Once upon a time, there lived a mother duck in the village with her little ducklings. Near the village, there was a big freshwater river. Every day the mother duck went to the river with her little duckling for passing his day in water. In evening time they came back to the village. This is their daily routine. One pleasant morning while the mother duck was walking towards the lake with her little ducklings. The ducklings were very cheerful and innocent. They happily quacking as they followed their mother in a neat line. The path to the lake passed through tall grass and bushes, but the duck family felt safe under their mother's watchful eyes. Suddenly, the mother duck noticed something moving in the distance. Her heart began to race. It was a claver fox. Fast and dangerous. Without wasting a moment, she cried out loudly. Children hurry to the lake. A fox is coming. The ducklings sensing danger in their mother's voice. They ran fast as their tiny legs could carry them toward the water. The mother duck knew she could not fight the fox, but she also knew she must protect her children at any cost. Thinking quickly, she came up with a clever plan. She began to walk slowly, dragging one of her wings along the ground. As if it were badly injured, she moved back and forth, pretending to be weak and helpless. When the fox saw her, his eyes lit up with excitement. That duck is injured and cannot fly. The silly fox thought she will be an easy meal. Greedy and confident, the fox rushed toward the mother duck. She ran ahead of him, carefully leading him farther and farther away from the lake. The fox followed eagerly, unaware that he was being tricked. After some time, the mother duck glanced back and saw that her ducklings had safely reached the lake. A wave of relief washed over her. She stopped running and stood still, thinking she was exhausted. The fox ran closer to catch her. But at that very moment, the mother duck suddenly spread her wings wide and flew up into the air. She landed gracefully in the middle of the lake where her ducklings swam quickly to her side. The fox stood frozen in shock. He growled in frustration, realizing too late that he had been fooled. Standing on the shore, he could do nothing as the duck family floated safely. Beyond his reach, the mother duck gathered her ducklings around her, proud that her courage and cleverness had saved their lives. Moral of the story, wisdom and quick thinking bear stronger than force. A mother's love and courage can overcome any danger.
