Miso 40 million sold, still on sale in February. Perfect for the cold winter. Big and Taku-chan. Oh, Ta-chan, Taku-chan. Ba-straight. It's hot, isn't it? Straight hot. Oh, me too, actually. Hikakin "The Night Shift" Incident. Welcome to YouTube Hikakin Games. Hey guys, it’s HIKAKIN, lover of horror games. Today, I’m going to play "The Night Shift." This is a masterpiece from the masters of horror, Chilla's Art, released back in 2020. And get this, five or six years later, a movie adaptation is hitting theaters on February 20, 2026. Ah, that’s why I held off on playing it until today; I really feel fate at work here. About this game: "The Night Shift" is a J-horror game about a college girl working the night shift at a convenience store. Is it Japanese horror, I wonder? Let’s get playing. Hit the like button and subscribe. Three, two, one. The incident begins. Hmm. I hear a clock ticking on the right. Hmm, is it time already? Gotta get ready. Ugh. Whoa. Quite an atmospheric start at home. Let me adjust the settings. To make it easier to see. Oh, wow. Look at the desk. We’re playing on a good PC here, you know. The texture is totally different, right? Look, shadow quality. Hard. Hard only. What’s this? Hard and soft. It’s like vanilla and chocolate, so I’ll go with this. Yeah. Okay. Going full max. Oh. Hmm. It’s 11:30 at night, wait, is that 5 minutes, looks like 34 minutes. Uh, how many seconds? Uh. Living the life, this pillow. Yeah. Oh, I see, this vibe. Hmm, this vibe, huh. Can I do this? Maybe not. Yeah. Well, let's see, oh, I Slept well. Change clothes. Ye-yes. Oh, I touched the clothes. Ah. Slept well. Wait, what does that mean? Oh, it’s the night shift. I’m an idiot. Thank you for your hard work. Really. I see. Convenience store work is tough. I see. Oh, wait, I just realized something. Hold on a sec. I was about to get distracted by these Calbee Salted Potato Chips, but wait, virtual salt, salt. Virtual is no good? Yeah. That’s salt-free then, right? Chilla's Art. Uh, there’s a stuffed toy, or rather, some Chilla's Art-style props, a pot, and, well, I just noticed something. Outside, is that a convenience store? It’s super close. Why? Wait, what? What does this mean? It's already completely pitch black, right? Yeah, you're right. That’s a gentle-sounding woman’s voice. She did say she was a college student, didn't she? Oh, right. But that’s nice, isn't it? Having your workplace so close to home. Yeah. It’s a haunted house. The owner might not have the funds, or maybe there's no budget, but couldn't you fix the walls, floors, or lights? Is this normal? Seriously, flashlights are dangerous, aren't they? I guess so. She’s a college student living alone. Oh, is there something? Oh, there is. Why the toilet? What do you want to do? What? What happened? Why did it open? Oh, I just opened it myself. This is, I don’t know, it feels unsettling. Phew, it’s pretty dark in here. Pick up the flashlight. Yes! Here. Thank you. Ah, it’s brighter now. This is a lifesaver. It’s darker than I thought. Let’s go. I have to go. I need to get ready to go. Eat. Change clothes. Take the flashlight. Hmm, eat. Wait, potato chips? Are you required to eat chips? Is it a must? Dinner is chips? Are you serious? And the TV is a CRT model. Is this set in the early Heisei era? What does "eat" even mean? I can't eat trash . What, what is it? Ah, Get ready. Oh, a microwave, I guess. Could it be? Hm? Oh, the fridge. Oh, is this a leftover bento? From yesterday? Oh, that’s nice. Oh, with this. Ah, heat it up. Obviously. "Shall I heat that up for you?" I’m used to that. Probably from the convenience store. Wait, this is the same microwave I use at home! I’ve been using it since my struggling days, for about 6 or 7 years now. I’ve used the same one the whole time, I take good care of it. The wattage is still a bit low, though. Convenience stores have those ones that heat things up in an instant. The commercial ones. Well, I can’t wait that long. Ah, it’s done. Take it out and eat. Yes. Wait, is there no front entrance? Is this a dorm? For an apartment, this wall and single door are way too creepy. Okay, got it. There's no dash. Actually, never mind. Ah, that's scary. This is "The Night Shift." Since the title literally says "incident," there's no way it's just about a night shift. Yeah. An incident will happen. It definitely will. The game wouldn't work otherwise. Oh, it's quite rural. There aren't any tall apartments or buildings. If anything, the apartment I'm living in is huge. Is it just me, or is the town big? Wait a minute. There's not a single person around. It's a ghost town. Well, 11 PM in the countryside is like this, I guess. True. Ah, there is a dash, with the shift key. Excuse me. Which way to the convenience store? I have no idea where it is. Heading to work, heading to work. Crap, I'm gonna be late. True enough. No matter how automated registers get, you still need someone. One person is necessary. Whoa, isn't this place huge? I could go all sorts of places. Wait, where was the store? I could see it from the house. Why are there so many houses? Ugh, I don't like this. This weird sense of distance just feels like it's saying, "An incident will happen here." Oh, could there be a sea nearby? Wow, it's dark. It's incredibly dark. Well, this is nice. It's nice. As a convenience store fanatic, from my perspective, the exterior wall is Seven-Eleven, but the sign is kind of like Lawson. Lawson. Yeah. It's like a "Lawson&Sen" vibe. Oh , they have oden. That's a nice touch. What? There's an oden counter? And who are you? Bu-buy, buy. I'll buy it. I know what happened here. I know everything. Maybe he was told in a dream to warn you all. Wait, he's a good guy. I can't say who told me, though. I'm just waiting for the fire, that's all. It's tiny. Whoa. I'm not doing anything weird. Are you okay? You're not doing anything strange, right? Hey, your face, your face is... Yeah. Yes. It's a Coca-Cola fridge. It's a summer campaign. So the setting is summer, then. Shall we head into the summer night? Oh, sorry. Good work. Oh, it’s too bright in here. Should I dim the lights a bit? Ah, here it is. The bloom makes it hard to see. Alright, alright, alright, alright. Wait, is this Miso Kin? Oh, thank you. It's launch day, and it's the salt flavor. Not miso. Wait, is this cat food? Oh, it's chips. It’s a super gummy-like color. And, oh, anyway. Oh, wow, you look so intellectual. That’s a very intellectual look. Oh, thanks. It’s " good morning," isn't it? At times like this. It's not "good evening." Ugh. You've got a pretty straight neck. Straight neck. Me too, actually. That straight neck is intense. What happened to your neck? Whoa. Oh, you made it all the way here? What do you mean? Wait, is this your first day? Wait, what do you mean? Don't you know? A guy living around here just recently, a moment ago , the bridge you crossed, wait, wait. Japanese is tough. Don't you know? A guy living around here just recently, on the bridge you just crossed, apparently committed suicide. My Japanese is a bit rusty, but I think I get the gist. Yes. That bridge, the old lady said something about it earlier. Both legs were bent backward, and it was unbearable to look at. An old lady? Oh, that's scary. You should be careful , too. It's all a lie, though. What is this? Can I slap you? What is your deal ? Haha. That’s a bit meaningless. So, what’s your name? Tan...What? Ta... Tan tan tan tan. Ta. Ta, Taba...Tanba. Yeah, Tanba. Oh, wait, no. Oh, Fu, Fu, Furuhashi-san. Funabashi Ta. Funabashi. Taya. Taya, Taku-chan. Tobacco. That’s a lot of cigarettes. Yeah. Oh, the backyard. That, uh, non-material staff area, what is this? Hm? What is this receipt-like thing? Wait, what is this? Oh, I see. Oh, that, it’s for clocking in. A time card. Clocking in. Yes. I used to punch in at the supermarket too, though that was in the mornings. At night, some items are probably close to their expiration date . Wait, hold on, hold on. Uh, I think some of the leftover items will have their expiration dates coming up by night. Wait a second, wait a second. Hang on a minute. Uh, okay. I think I get the gist of it. Yeah. So, it means there are leftover items about to expire, right? Can someone check that? Manager. Oh, okay. Expiration dates, right. Also, this is to check the security cameras. Uh, Any shoplifters? Oh, wow. That's high-performance. Whoa, they even have them outside, huh? Which side is this? Oh, this is 2. Ugh, zoom in. Zoom out. What's RMB? Oh, right-click. What? Zoom in, zoom in. Someone came in. They came in. Hey, let's get out of here already. Let's get out. This should be fine for now. Wait, huh? How do I cancel? Is this not channel 3? Oh, I was able to cancel it. Oh, welcome. Huh? Huh? Where'd they go? They already left. Oh, they swapped places? Wait, hold on. Expiration date, Expiration date, uh, the rice ball section seems, yeah, this shelf looks fine. Oh, I have to do all of them. Ah, looks like there are expired products. I mean, bento boxes and rice balls usually have short shelf lives, after all. Mm, and, take the products off. Yes. Oh, it's this one. This, where? Where should I put this? Is inside okay ? Or maybe outside? No, if I leave it in the trash outside, someone might pick it up. Mm. Wait, that doesn't seem right. Outside it is, then. Oh, crap. So, I'm really sorry. Sorry about that. I mean, it's not like this is a convenience store management game, anyway. Mister, you're not really supposed to have this. Technically. You want to eat this, mister? It's really not allowed. Things like this. Here you go. Yeah. Oh, oh, uh, help a homeless person. Oh, well, just this once, okay? Since you told me that stuff. Something about seeing something in a dream or whatever, saying weird stuff. Yeah. Sorry. Sorry to you customers, too. You did say you were homeless, right? Can I see where you go home? Hm? Can't go out . I'm going to stay suspicious until the very end. Past the telephone pole and safely out of frame. Okay. I don't trust you. Yeah. Sorry about that. Ah, a bento box. Sorry. An orange and a bento box, right? Yes. Ah, thanks for waiting. Thank you. Please come again. Thank you very much. Didn't that just look like mobile payment? That seems way too new. Well, nowadays, they even have automated registers. Wow, I really want to eat that. If I worked at a convenience store, I feel like I'd end up snacking on things without paying. For night shifts, there are fewer customers than during the day, so you'd definitely have some downtime. Depending on the place, yeah. Are there still...yeah, still more? Wait, juices and snacks don't really expire, do they ? Ah, milk and things like that. This shelf is fine. Bread. Ah, bread could expire. Like sweet breads. Some have fresh cream in them. Yeah. Check all expiration dates. Okay. Looks like there are expired items. Remove them. Yes. But the guy already left. These are the frozen foods. Wow, "Father's Kitchen" meat sauce. "Father's Kitchen. " Hamburg steak. It's the "Father's Kitchen" series. Pork cutlet bowl, welcome. Welcome. Wait, In the middle of the night, on the contrary. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, that's cool. Wow. The cat food is impressive. Isn't this place super busy? Can I just throw this away outside? Since it's waste. Huh? Wait a second. Import? Ah, I just opened it myself. Whoa, that's scary, that's scary. Wait, didn't a mark just appear? Oh, a staff member. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What am I supposed to do with this? Ah, the trash can, that's right. I might not be able to handle this; it's scary. Am I doing the night shift now? Huh? Where do I take this? Ah, here? Whoa, wait a minute. There's something crazy in the adjacent area. Ah, it's hanging. Yes. You know, honestly, I want to change the world. I'd like to change this world, and really, I wish we didn't have to waste this food. But if it's considered edible and you can just take it, then everyone would just walk off with it. It can't be helped. Please don't enter. I really can't get in at all. Oh, it's a dead end, I can't go around. Oh, there's a security camera here. Huh. Anyway, I can't even dash. Yeah. I am pressing shift, though. Oh, can I enter from here? By any chance? Oh, wait, what is this? Oh, wow, I used to work at a supermarket, but we didn't have this. Being able to stock from the back side like this is great. This makes stocking shelves so easy. Nice. Grape juice. Oh, sunset, sunset. Omega Dry. Not bad. Not bad. Yeah. It's not morning, after all. To be drinking this . It's not morning, after all. The sunset feels like night, which is nice. Yeah. There's really nothing to do, even for stocking. Oh, I can enter from here too. Nice. That just rang, right? Surely someone's here. Oh, Someone who looks like a fighter. Hm, Thank you for your hard work. Truly. It's quite late for a delivery, isn't it? That, that is rude of me. That would be the black cat service. They recently set up a system for special deliveries to convenience stores open late at night. That's convenient. Oops, it looks like this package requires a personal signature. Wait, the name on this matches your name tag. Eh, for me? Addressed to me? It must be handed to you directly. Uh, that's scary. It's not someone's head or something, right? Uh, yes, yes. Ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong, ding-dong, clunk, clunk, ding. Take it home. Let's open it now. There are security cameras anyway. Let's open it now. Ah. Eh? Already. This, what time is this? Ugh, whoa. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Why, why, why? Eh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Eh, the time is the next day, hmm. Video, video, video, eh, video, eh, vi-vi-vi-vi-video . Scary, this is really scary. Look closely, look closely, yeah. Hmm. Something feels off. Wait, is this where I was before? It's off-limits... the camera angle is shaky. Eh, That's it? Hey, wait a second. You, this is just...What is this? This is way too underwhelming. Wait, why is the microwave on? Is someone here? Hey, is someone here? D-Dada. Is this already the second day? It's the same shift time again. Are we already on day two? This The pacing is fast. Maybe because it's older? The pacing is fast. Help me . Something Should I pick up the flashlight? It’s like the same thing every day. It’s a loop. Nothing special. Whoa, that’s creepy. I see. Older Chilla's Art games are actually pretty scary. Yes. Day one. First night . What? What is it? What is it? So the last part wasn't the first night? Why not? Was the last part "night zero"? I see. The bridge, huh. I have to cross this bridge to get to the convenience store. I can't deal with this. This is super scary. Oh, right. Looking at it now, Chilla's Art horror games have gotten way more lenient in the Reiwa era. Like this Is it this scary? I had no idea. Something is definitely coming . Something bad. This is really something. Yeah. It’s something. Usually it doesn't take this long. Can't I go inside? Just let me reach the goal. I’ll just live in this house. Is there no goal? Give me a break. I doubt nothing will happen until the bridge. Let's run. Running. Nothing happened at all. Wait a minute. Hah. Wait. No way. After all that buildup. Zero paranormal activity. Give me back the time I spent being terrified. The old guy isn't here. That’s also kind of scary. What the. There's one car parked here. And, ding-dong, ding-dong. Uh, today we have meat buns, pizza buns, but no bean buns . I love bean buns, you know, it’s a shame. Everyone loves bean buns, surely . Yeah. My neck feels awful today too. Hey, hey. And you're the queen, right? Once. This guy is so smooth. I heard the automatic doors opened on their own . I knew it. I thought something was off. We had a repairman look at it, and it was just a sensor issue. That's how it is. Usually, ghosts and paranormal stuff are just people misunderstanding things. So they thought it was a poltergeist? You see it on TV a lot, but it’s all staged. Right. Yeah. Yeah, it’s all fake, totally staged. Yeah. I mean, honestly, things like the Loch Ness Monster feel so fishy. Yeah. Ghosts don't exist, you know. I’m on that side, too. Yeah. Because I’ve never seen one myself. I mean, if I saw one a bunch of times, I’d believe it, though. Yeah. Yeah. Clocking in. Means Taya’s clocking out. That’s how it works. Talk to Taya more. I saw a rat behind the shop yesterday. That’s bad . In this age of social media? That’s bad. Yeah, that’s bad. Looks like the trash can was raided. Ugh, whoever’s reading this, please be aware. Wait, that’s me. Manager. Manager! Security camera. Oh, can I check it with this? Manager, please show us you can be a bit cool for once. Like, handling the trash and all that. The old guy next door has trouble walking, so...Ugh, what a complete mess this is! What happened here? What are you doing? Huh. Well, maybe it’s past the expiration date, but first, the trash can. Uh, well, it’s scary, isn’t it? Yeah. Something just drove off in a car. Why is this open? Whoa, what? What is this? What’s this rat spray? Oh, it’s rat killer spray. Six. Oh, am I supposed to use this? Like, pshhh? Oh, this is nice , I’m happy to have this. When I worked at a supermarket, I was in charge of taking out the trash. I’d go take out the trash like ten times a day. Back here, there were ones as big as rabbits. Sewer rats, sewer rats, sewer rats, poison rats, they were all over. They were my friends. I’m sorry . Ah, sorry. Sorry. I’ve never done anything like this before. Ah, sorry. Ah, sorry. I’ve never had to do anything like this. Yeah. Where are the others? Oh, there you are. I’m sorry. This one’s huge. It’s huge. It’s bigger than a guinea pig. Ah. I didn't know they had "Rat Jet" spray. I've never even seen cockroach spray like this before. Hm. Three out of six... wait, are they gone? Oh, there. I’m sorry. Where are you, little rat? Where are you? Huh? Don't tell me this? Ugh, are you going to cause trouble again? Huh? What? Where else are you? Oh, is this it? Yes. Yes. Six live rats. Customer, we apologize for keeping you waiting so long. Sorry to have kept you waiting for so long. Wait, huh? There’s no one here. That’s scary. I see. No expired items today? Whoa, it’s just me, me, me, me, it’s just me. It’s just me. There are no ghosts . Just me. Cars keep passing by every now and then. Hmm? Oh, I already did this. Yeah. I did everything. Security camera. No customers around, anyway. Ah , it’s creepy. Yeah. Camera channel 4 okay? Yeah, the mouse is fine. Uh oh. It’s a punk. Should I help him? Punk, it’s a punk. This is bad. He’s a local, a local punk. Hey. Hey. I’m in a hurry. So hurry up and get me 5 beers and some cigarettes. Are you kidding me ? I have to go get them? I’m a good boy, so. Night shifts can be a bit weird. Seriously? Beer and smokes, beer and…hey, get me the dry ones. Yeah. Don’t say that, get them yourself. Don’t say it. Keep it to yourself. Hm ? B-beer, I can’t grab it. From this side? Oh, you mean take them from here? Oh, got it, got it, got it. Wow, he knows to pick the cold ones, he’s got good taste. Wait, the cigarettes are, well, they’re at the register. I’m busy, so hurry up. Beer, 5 beers. Oh, sorry, sorry. 5 beers. 5 round trips. Wait. Can I hold 5 of these? Could it be? Eh? Oh, hmm? What does that mean? Don’t tell me I have to go back and forth one by one. Like this? Hm? Guess not. Cigarettes. Oh, Wait, what is this ? Another trip? I have to do this again ? No way. Are you serious? I can’t carry them all at once, you know. Sorry about that. It’s cold, the beer. Well , it’s good exercise, anyway. The night shift is a bit boring, after all. Today, it’s also good exercise, yes. I see. But this is being made into a movie. It’s probably going to be super scary. I’ll probably go see it. The movie, "The Night Shift Incident." Everyone, you should try to go see it too. Now, This is the 5th one. For a second, it looked like the color of a lemon sour. Alright. Okay. Now, the cigarettes. Oh, no, it’s fine. This should do, right? Alright. The word " cigarettes" is reversed. Cigarettes. Yes. Hey, hurry up and scan this for me . Scanning. Fine, I guess. Here. Welcome. Thank you very much. Please come again. Peace. Go ahead. Yeah. Well , it's pretty routine, the night shift. Though, I wonder about the night shift. Maybe it pays better than the day shift ? If so, well, it’s a bit scary. It’s scary if a drunk person comes in , but if the workload is calm, the night shift...Please say something. At modern convenience stores, you're supposed to say, "May I use the restroom?" Lady. Oh, it's a grandma. You came because you were bored, huh? I'll let it slide. This grandma is kind of cute. I'll let it slide. Yeah. Huh. What? Huh? Where’s Ken-kun? Ken-kun? Eh? Isn't he here? Huh? Where did my lovely Ken-kun go? What? A homeless person? Eh? Are you hanging out with a homeless person? What? What? What does this mean? I thought I heard a voice earlier—the person who fell off the bridge. Ken-kun. This place is my daughter’s house. What are you talking about, grandma? Man, is this... that kind of situation? Is she the type who has dementia and wanders around late at night? I can't help it. Someone in her family needs to look after her. What have you done? Give me back my daughter’s house. W-what? What are you talking about, grandma? You shouldn't blame an old lady, you know. Grandma. Even an old lady has her own sense of justice. Is this okay? Around midnight like this? Is the restroom okay? Oh, there was a restroom. Ah, this is nice, isn't it? Thank you for always keeping it clean. Noki-panda. No , thank you. Let me take a look. You know, for restrooms, if they say " Please use it cleanly," and "We ask for your cooperation," it makes you go, " Yeah, sure." But if they intentionally write, "Thank you to everyone for always keeping it clean," it actually makes you feel better, right? Hey, is that grandma okay? But she's impressive . She came all by herself. She didn't buy anything, just used the restroom and left. Trying to save money, huh? Water bills, right? She didn't take any toilet paper with her, right? The grandma is fine, right? I wonder what this car is. That’s scary. There’s nothing here. Yeah. I mean, I took care of the mice, too. Can I go home now? Wait, is it my turn now? This? Hm? Heave-ho. Yeah. Hm, Something feels off , doesn't it? This is way too creepy. Yes. Grandma? There’s no poop from Grandma here. Yes. I mean, you’ve got to clean the toilets and stuff, too. You know, when you have an emergency and really need a bathroom, you rush into a convenience store, but sometimes they don’t have one in the city. But if I were running a convenience store, I would definitely never have a toilet. Because then I wouldn't have to clean it. Like, what if you check the security camera and see something chilling? That could happen. That could happen. This is endless, isn't it? Endless doorbell ringing. Ding-dong. Scary. Huh. A kid? Must be pulling a prank. Running away from home, maybe? Whoa. Whoa, they ran off. Hm, Where’d they go? That brat...I won't forgive you. Forgive you. I mean, even if it’s just a kid, it’s not right to be out this late. Where’d they go? They went this way. Ken-chan? I think I might have connected with them. *Sigh. *Ken-chan. What’s with Ken-chan’s truck? Ah. What is that? A delivery guy who looks like a fighter. He’s kind of handsome, right? Yeah. He’s popular, I bet. This guy is really good-looking. You know, that solid, masculine vibe. Is that Ken-chan? That’s terrifying. Hey, did you see the delivery guy? That agile little boy ? We meet again. The number of people using online shopping has been rising rapidly lately. That’s true. So, I came here to pick up a delivery box. A delivery box? Hm. Oh, this is...Oh, this time it’s, uh, some other online ...wait, am I handing this over? This time it's for shipping? Is this for the customer to send something, not for receiving? What is this? Was this here? This is creepy. So creepy. That’s one incredible truck. It’s so American. It’s way too big. Well, but really, I have a lot of respect for the truck drivers in the logistics industry. The reason we can shop on Amazon and get our stuff quickly is because they’re driving through the night. Can I go home? It’s scary. Because it’s just so creepy. Can I go home? I guess this is just how it goes. Maybe when no customers come, you just end up watching these things. Security check. Check the security cameras five times. Okay. Ken-chan isn't here. My guess is Ken-chan. Yeah. So bored. Can't zoom in , huh. That scared me. A LINE message? Is it a real one? Oden isn't selling at all. Hope no one comes to poke the oden . Yeah. Could happen late at night, you never know. Huh? Man. Suddenly...second night already. Second night. So sudden. Anything red here? Huh? What's this? An umbrella. Oh, it's raining. It's raining outside. Wait, I opened an umbrella indoors. It's raining? Whoa, it's really pouring. How many nights does this go on for? Man, they work hard. Every day? Probably starting at midnight. That's rough. Waking up around 11:30. I don't think I could do it. That's amazing. It’s not just a convenience store, after all. Oh, no videotape today, I guess. So, just heading out without even eating. Huh? This actually makes it scarier today. Wait, it's already open. Creepy. Should I take a frying pan or something? Too scary not to have a weapon. And for some reason, I always grab the flashlight here. Is that you, Ken-chan? Is that you, Ken-chan? Ah, let's head out. Ken-chan. Wait, A delivery? I'll open it. A video? Again? It's definitely a video, I'm sure. See? It’s a video. I'll watch it. Watching it again today. Another "no entry" sign . Looks like I'm definitely going there . Wait, Did they get beat up? Like, hassled by some thugs and knocked out? It looks like the guys hanging around there just beat them up and left them unconscious. I'm not scared at all. After all, I'm the guy who opens umbrellas indoors. Actually, this is kind of nice. The sound of this rain. Though it gets scary if it’s too quiet. La la la la. Lawson, Seven, family. Ministop. Stop, soft serve, Lawson, Seven, FamilyMart, Ministop, Ministop, soft serve, Lawson, Famima, Famichiki, L-chiki, Nanchiki, hot snacks are delicious too. Yeah. Convenience stores have the latest products. Miso at 7-Eleven too. Coming out. Wait, second night? Wait, is there nothing on the second night? I didn't miss anything, right? Man, it's really raining hard today. There's a third day , but it's still day two. Hey, Taku-chan. Tatchan is scary. He's slacking off, that guy. Taku-chan is slacking off. Wait, he's not here. Scary, scary, scary, scary, scary, scary. What's wrong? What's wrong? Taku-chan. Oh, Taku-chan. Taku-chan. Taku-chan. Boo, ba-ba-ba. Don't mess around with me. There are things you should and shouldn't do on a night shift. That was close. I might be bleeding from my throat. How was that? I scared you, didn't I? Obviously, you idiot. Alright, I get it, I get it. Hey , treat me to something, maybe a meat bun or a bean paste bun. I'll stop with the pizza buns. I'll never do it again. You're actually really sorry. I'll forgive you. See ya. Oh, it's Taku Funabashi. Not Funabashi, wait. Yes, yes. Good work. Oh, wait. Wait a second . I still had a little bit more to scold you about. Oh, I can't talk anymore. *Sigh. *Time to clock in. Today...huh? What are these footsteps? Some items are sold out. Keeping the shelves full at all times is our mod. Please do it before I come in tomorrow morning. The manager, huh. Oh, good work. Good work. Good work. The shelves , right. There are actual customers here. It’s actually a relief. You know, it’s comforting when customers are around. Huh? Oh, Taku-chan left just now? Oh, Ta-chan, was it? So Ta-chan had left. Oh, so I was being paranoid for nothing. Ding-dong, ding-dong, Taku-chan. What do you want? Huh? That's scary. Without even using an umbrella. Where? Huh? Oh, hold on. Oh, good. I thought Ta-chan was going to go back into that off-limits area to the right, and I thought he was the culprit. Ta-chan is actually heading home in this black car, oh, that's a relief. Yeah, right. He's fine. The culprit could be someone I know. " Everything is a lie," or something, he seemed suspicious. Why are you stopping ? Why are you taking the long way around? That's weird. I’m putting Ta-chan on my blacklist. Yeah. He's the most suspicious one. Besides, the grandma and the homeless man were actually nice people. Hm? Eeee. Oh, thank goodness. That's a relief. Uh, oh , crap. I'm gonna get yelled at if I don't restock. Huh? What? There are places with no items at all. Like, completely sold out. Ah. Creepy. Seriously creepy. Uh. Ugh. Oh, good. Plum flavored potato chips. What the. Oh, time to restock. Oh, here they are. Welcome. I make sure to call out even if there are no customers. Welcome. Go ahead. So, today we have these plum flavored potato chips. Wait, there are plenty of these out here. Huh? Almost everything this convenience store sells is potato chips. Oh, here it is. They bought these specifically. Yeah. Time to line up the products. Isn't this perfect? It's scary. Feels like there's a reason for this. The amount of these potato chips. Other than that, there's not much weird about it. This store... this area is scary. It's dark. What? What? Oh, the "Father's Cafeteria" pork cutlet bowl. Oh, the pork cutlet bowls are selling well today. That's nice. The unit price is probably high. It's doing very well. Huh? Eh? It's locked. Geez. Wait, it's locked. Creepy. Wait, this one too? What does this mean? Wait , I'm locked in. Oh, never mind. Hmm? Oh, there are rice balls too. Wait, why ? Why did it stop opening? Oh, it opened. Wait, I'm not imagining this, right? It's scary, scary, scary. Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Wait, is it raining? Eh? Oh, was it just my imagination? For a second I thought it was a leak. Yeah. Actually, those old works have...yeah. They have a different kind of charm, after all. Yeah. Yeah. It's scary. It's scary. Yes . I'll line them up. Yes. Who was that? That bell just now. Eh? Oh, oh, check it out, uh...Check it out. Oh, are you a painter? Whoa, you're working until late? Working on colors? Thanks for your hard work. Seriously. I'm Hamada, but you probably don't know me. He said the AC is acting up. Oh, you're the, uh , repairman. It's been hot lately, after all. Probably worried about the products. Getting called out in the middle of the night...the manager... don't worry about me. I'll take a quick look and leave right away. I doubt it’s anything major anyway. I'm counting on you. Because it’ll rot. Yeah, convenience stores are usually pretty cool inside. Wait, where, where are they planning to watch from? The camera, the camera, that camera looks suspicious. Oh, it’s 12 o’clock now , isn't it? Oh. No issues here. Yes. They’re heading toward the air conditioner properly. Oh, so this is the AC. This is scary. There’s some kind of...mark just here. Yeah. Everything seems fine, really. Probably outside, you know, that...W-what do you call it? It means they went to fix the outside. Not inside the store, but the main unit. The only other place I can go is the bathroom, though. Yeah. Seems okay. Well, it is raining a little, isn't it? Sometimes. Sometimes it rains inside the store too, right? This one. Scary, scary, scary, scary. Guess I’ll go check on things. See if that worker is actually doing their job properly. It’s Hama. Oh, it’s Hama. Hey, Hama. Are they doing it right? Hey . It’s fixed. Eh? Ha-ha. Ha. It’s Hama. Wait? There’s a key. It’s Hama. Hama. Hama. Hold on. Eh? No, I’m telling you, there’s a key. Eh, it’s Hama. The tape is coming off this. Eh? Hama-chan. Pretty wild. Do I have no choice but to follow Hama-chan? I wonder if he’s a good guy? Hmm? What is this "dare box" thing, or whatever? It’s huge. A police box? What is this? No way. Absolutely not. Absolutely not. I-it’s locked. There was a key. It’s ding-donging. This isn't a convenience store game anymore. What is this? Where did I come from? This way? The flashlight is doing a good job. I want to take this for some reason, but maybe I can't take it yet. Oh, huh? Hama-chan dropped it. Nice. Opening it without permission. Eh? Okay . Hama. -chan. The lock opened, but when I try to open it, my arm gets paralyzed. It’s being paralyzed. It’s like something is trying to stop me. I can’t open it. Ah, scary, scary . The way home is scary, huh. Yeah, the way back, it’s like...Hama-chan, Hama-chan, Hama-chan, Hama-hama-hama-chan. Oh, uh, welcome. The store is really quiet, as expected. Hmm? Oh, welcome. My, you’re quite beautiful. Finally, someone who isn't a middle-aged guy came in. Oh, hello there, miss. Welcome. At such a late hour. You must be exhausted, really. Yes, welcome. Yes. Hey, being all alone right now is scary, scary, scary. It’s super scary. Past midnight, being alone like this is seriously scary. I can’t believe it. Why work a girl all alone in the middle of the night like this every day? It’s crazy . Oh, you’re a kind person. You are a bit frail, aren't you? I see. So this was all you had. Hm. At least take my amulet with you. Wait, are you a fortune teller or something? Take care. Wait, it’s, it’s actually kind of creepy, but I guess I’m grateful. I’ll take it. I’ll take it. It’s kind of scary getting things from strangers, right? Yeah. If it were from family, it’d be fine, but...Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Scary, scary, scary. Scary, scary. Ah, a relief. Ah, a relief. Ah. Ah. Camera, camera. Camera channel 4. Okay. Camera channels 2 and 4 are overlapping. Yeah. 2 and 4. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Exterior, exterior is okay. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, okay. Hama-chan has left too, I see. Yeah. Nice. I’m working properly. Huh, is there nothing left to do today? Is this, by any chance...Not that many paranormal phenomena are happening, right? Actually, the one I’m most scared of right now is me. Takkun, it’s me. I’m really scared. It’s raining. It’s raining. What? What? What’s that sound? Huh? Didn't it go "kwee-in" or something? Uh. Could you contact Mr. To? Maybe it's a bug with the latest system? Oh no. I’m locked in. Wait, I , I, I get locked in every single time. Let’s play, let’s play hide-and-seek. Wait. It clicked. Customer? What are you doing? You’re hiding, aren't you? What are you doing? Customer, please don't just come in like that. Give it a rest, please. Customer...Customer. Ah, Ta, Taku-chan. Taku-chan. You came to mess around again, didn't you, Taku-chan? Hm? Taku-chan. Please be Taku-chan. I’m begging you. I hope it’s Taku-chan. Taku-chan, big, big. Eh? Hm. What is this? A talisman? Ah, can I go to the back if I have this? Is that how it works? What is this? Collect the talismans. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I feel like I'm going to get cursed. I feel like I'm going to get cursed. Whoa, but I have an amulet. I wonder if it's okay to have an amulet and an ofuda together . Man, this is intense. Scary, scary, scary, scary, scary. Hurry up and start day three. This is scary. Wait, are we really going to go stick this up right now? It's moving fast. Ah, scary. Whoa, you scared me. The sound of rain just started all of a sudden. Man, this is scary. It has to be here, right? The atmosphere is just right for it. This house has to be the only place to put this ofuda. Are we going to seal up this cursed place? I kinda want to go inside, though. But I actually want to go inside. We have no choice but to do this. Yeah, we have to stick it up. It's 44. 4. 44. Taku-chan? What is this ? Hey, I saw a mouse. Oh, you became like Doraemon. It's a mouse. Uh, wow. That's not manager Taku-chan. Wait, Taku-chan is the mastermind, right? Is this Manager Toshiro Tsurukawa? He's bleeding from his eyes. Shouldn't we close this for a second? Yeah. Yeah. What is this 44? There's a videotape. Uh, Hey, manager. I can't seem to pick anything up. Whoa, that's creepy. So creepy. Wow, scary. Wait, it won't open ? You're kidding, right? Wait, it won't open. Uh, Taku-chan, Taku-ta-chan, Taku-chan, Ken-chan. Yeah. Something big is coming. Something big is coming. I've got an amulet. But what am I? Uh, Stop it, stop it. It's scary. Stop it. The sound is intense. Stop it. Wait, was I looking up? That's amazing. Eye, eye, eye drops, eye drops. Wait. Can I leave? Can I leave? I can't get out anymore. I can't get out. It's just, it's just the third day, the third day. Sa, ya, sa. I really thought it was all over for me. I mean, anyone would quit, right? I'm just going to ghost them. Starting today. If it were me, I'd definitely ghost them. Wait, a nightmare? What does this mean? What kind of nightmare is this? Was it all just a dream? Wait, I haven't even gone to work once yet. Wait, reality doesn't exist. Uh, uh. I can't believe it. Are you okay for dinner? Dinner...oh, yeah, there's a video. Video, video, video, video. Man, there's just something about these VHS tapes. Watch it a lot. Watch it a lot. Oh, it’s that shed from before. So this was the manager's perspective? Wh-what? The videos never really show anything important, do they ? I mean, in the end, it’s not even a convenience store anymore. The main character is that......place that looks like a warehouse. What is that building , anyway? Ah, crap, this is definitely scary. Definitely scary. Definitely scary. Definitely scary, this thing. Definitely scary, this thing. Oh, it’s not raining today, is it? Sad night here. First, second, safe, first, safe, second. Yeah. Seven-Eleven, Lawson, FamilyMart, Stop, Seven, Eleven . I like Japanese conbini. Sweets, uh, cream puffs, éclairs, uh, any, uh... Tiramisu. Seven-Eleven, good mood, dun-dun, Seven-Eleven, dun-dun, good mood, dun-dun, Seven-Eleven, dun-dun, good mood—it’s not running toward me at all, is it? How much...How much do you think I fear bridges? Shared night. Taku-chan. Taku-chan. Oh, well, Taku-chan is probably hiding again today. I’ve got nothing but bad feelings about this. Wait a second, Taku-chan. I actually miss that annoying Taku-chan. Is Taku-chan playing another prank today? Huh? Hey, the time card for my shift isn't here. Uh, wait, the manager's desk, there’s no note from the manager either. I definitely don’t want this. I definitely don’t want this. Something like this. Welcome. Wel-come-come-come-come, it’s fine. It’s a dream. I see. The night shift dimension is all just a dream. Yeah. Hey, isn't Taku-chan coming today? Is the lady from before not coming? Ah, h-huh, what is that? Na-nails, nu-TV. Oh, I see. A dream. It was just a dream . Is that...A Hard Off. This place was a Hard Off. I see. I see. Oh, they’re selling just the miso at a premium price. Thank you movie. Thank you. Movie recommendation. Thank you movie, huh. What is this? Why are there so many nails here? Why? Used CRT TVs actually have quite a bit of demand, you know. Actually, I’ve used old CRT TVs in my music videos too, so there’s actually a demand for this kind of vintage stuff. Yeah. Oh, the juice is sold out. What? Turn on? Turn on. This...You can turn on as much as you want, apparently. Panicking won't help, I've got to restock. Restocking. In times like this, stay calm and stick to the routine. Who's there? It won't turn on at all. This side won't open. I don't like this feeling. Are you saying I'm not even allowed to head to that dangerous place? Is there some trick to turning on the TV? What was that? Boom-bam-ban. I really wanted to eat that oden so badly. Wait, earlier...A 4 ...It was written as 4, right? Could that be it? All I can do now is go back , but...There's nothing here, is there? Yeah. We're selling TVs and stuff. It's quite a new business model, like trying to sell TVs at a convenience store. Yes . A new business. Ken-chan. Ken-chan, how many times? Wait, is he coming towards me? Oh, I can see him. Ah, there he is. Whoa, amazing. Like a shoplifter. I'm looking at a shoplifter on the ground. Hey, Ken-chan, what are you doing? Which TV do you want? It's fine. I'll give you a discount. Scary, so scary. Wait, he's heading to the storage room. No way. No, no, he's acting strange. Wait, he's coming back again. Is he sensing something in one of these TVs? Hm? What? Ken-chan is naked. Huh? Ah, there he is. Can I just ask him, "What are you doing?" Should I go? I probably need to, right? What do I say? Hey, Dad, Mom, you...Huh? Hey. Which TV do you want? Mom, Dad, what are you doing? The toilet. Ken-chan, can you use the toilet alone? The toilet. Hm? What is this? Ken-chan is ...He only shows up on camera, doesn't he? Whoa, I can just slip in here now. That's terrifying. Ken-chan, Ken-chan, cut it out. Ken-chan is there. Ken-chan is really there. W-what? What's going on? What does this mean? It's like I only turn on the TVs Ken-chan is looking at. Uh...The angle makes it hard to see, I have no idea. He's looking at that TV on the very bottom. So that's it. Does it mean I should turn on number 4? Number 4 is 12...That seems likely. Where was it again? 12... Whoa, down there. 3. This is super difficult. Because it's in 3D. Wow, it’s really spread out, for sure. Whoa, it’s showing up here too, so that’s how you spot them. The one on the very outside. Number one. Oh, the TV up there? Whoa, that’s definitely it. I’ll make sure to turn on the TV Ken-chan likes. Can’t be helped, I guess. He’s been going in circles the whole time. Look. Wait, this part here ...That three over there. Okay. Okay. Wh-what, wait, can you tell what this is? Isn’t this super hard? This right here. So it goes like this, and Ken-chan came this way and was looking down here at something, the "Asa" thing or whatever. He was looking around here too, right? How was it? Was it down here? I can't remember. It wasn't like this. I have to get this right. That’s definitely it. Maybe it means the "Asa" thing? Think, remember it properly. Let's see, it was up here first, right? It was this one, right? And the next one was down here. Is it this? This one. It’s this one. Wait, if you get it right, doesn't it disappear? Maybe? Whoa, maybe it doesn't disappear. What else was there? It’s this one on the shelf, right? Yeah. It was in the back, right? See? Looks like that’s right. Where was the last one? Wasn't it around here? Is it this one? Wait, no. Huh? Oh, but it’s not disappearing with a "boom." It was four of them, right? Is this wrong? Huh? Wait? It’s gone. Whoa, scary. Scary. Wait, does this mean I succeeded? Creepy. Huh? Ken-chan? Ken-chan, you okay? Ken-chan, you’re looking pretty pale. Ha. Ke-Ken-chan. Oh, it’s a dream. Oh, wait, it’s seriously a dream. Phew. This guy is just someone who has nightmares. I mean , look, it’s back to normal. What the hell, man. Hold on, give me a break. The VHS. The VHS. Take it home. Volume 4. It’s already volume 4. It’s volume 4. It said 4, yeah, 4, it was written there earlier, it’s finally time, finally time, is it finally time, volume 4, volume 4, what is this, who am I sending this to, wait, wait, wait, the video, I’m watching, I’m watching, watching, what is this? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that’s something you see often, right? The manager is already being taken out, eh That's me on screen, my house's balcony Oh, what's this? Sleep paralysis? Ah, I mean sleep paralysis. I get it, I get it. It happens to me too, you know. I can't move. Wait, it's time to head to work. The clock is, eh, There are no footsteps. Ugh, My body won't move. Ah, this is sleep paralysis. It's alright. Um, you know, I'm just a little tired. And, the lights, are you not turning on the lights? They're there, they're there. Oh, Ending 2, 2, it ends on Ending 2. What? Ending, is there an Ending 1 too? Ending 2. Ugh, that's definitely a bad one for me. Ah, a game by Chilla's Art. Ah, I feel like I've learned about the origins of Chilla's Art's work. Well, there are probably older ones too, though. Ah, wait, I should use this as a chance to play even older games. Eh, wait a second. I want to see Ending 1 too. Yeah, Compared to the recent ones, the latest ones, these end credits are completely different. It's changed in five years, hasn't it. Eh, Is this a movie? I wonder which ending it would be in the movie. Nokipanda. Eh, I definitely want to see it. Nothing happened on the bridge, did it? Maybe in the good ending, you save Ke-chan at the bridge or something Shoot, I don't get the theories at all. Anyway, the villain, or I mean the bad guy, is that big, long-haired black thing. That, that thing is the bad one. That guy is to blame for everything. Thank you for playing. Well, applause for now, but if I had reached Ending 1, well, my clear would have been 1. I wanted to say my story was 1, but since I'm told it's Ending 2, I end up wanting to see 1. Were there any branching paths somewhere? There's no option to start from a branch point. Eh? Huh. Eh, Huh? Could it be that I have to play it for the fourth time or something? Eh, from the beginning? Huh? It's from the beginning. Geez, I guess I have no choice but to do it again. Come to think of it, at the end, there was that bit about putting it in a cardboard box to send it. HS Whoa, there's no way to start from the middle. Are you serious? Is there really no choice but to do it again? No, let's do it, let's do it. I really want a movie adaptation. Ah, that was a good sleep. Anyway, I'll just jump straight to the end. Oh, are there two endings? I mean, there couldn't be more, right? It’d be dangerous without a flashlight. Three. Doing three full runs is tough, but I want to put it in the box. "The Convenience Store" pro player Hikakin, here for round two. Even knowing everything. Oh, it still took about the same amount of time. Well, here we are. Up to this point. Right, that’s four. Let’s go with this. Three, two, one, fire. Take it home. Number forty-two. Alright, let’s try putting it in the box and sending it. That’s the right way, right? Hey. Wait, wait, wait. Wait , if I mess this up, I’m seriously done for. Hold on. Oh, watch it or send it in the box? Oh, this is fine, right? It’s fine. Wait, was this here? Throw it in the trash. Ah, hang on. Wait, I really don't want to have to do this all over again. Oh, so there are three choices. But I want to keep at least one. For those who haven’t played, I want you to pick what I didn’t. If I show everything, well...maybe I’ll send it to someone. It’s overwhelmingly different. Last time I picked it up...don't screw this up. Did I try putting my name in it from the start? Then I got the ending where I’m being watched from outside. Yeah. Even if I throw it out, the tape just stays in the house. Whoa, that’s creepy. This is the one. This is good. Alright, I’m sticking with this. There are rats around, too. This is the final ending I chose for "The Convenience Store." Put the VHS tape in the box and send it. Three, two, one, fire. Okay. W-wait a second. Just hold on a sec. Good. Back home once. I won’t mess this up. Can I take a look at this one too? Oh, crap, wait, that’s throwing it away. I knew it. Okay, okay, okay. So, I won't watch the one from earlier. I just jumped straight to watching the TV last time. Okay, okay, okay. Oh, it’s scary, it’s scary, it’s scary. Here I go. Three, two, one, five. This is The Convenience Store. Oh, wow. It actually has a confirmation. Is this okay? Yes. It's coming. Who am I leaving this for? Who is "who"? Huh? It ends with Ending 1. Oh, wait? Oh, it's text. Text type. It's text type. Feeling sick, I decided to tie the bag tightly with double tape and send it back. Fortunately, there was an address written on the cardboard box. I let out a sigh of relief once I finished preparing it for shipment. Perhaps because the tension had finally faded, my body suddenly felt heavy and extremely sluggish. I must be exhausted from the night shift. So many things happened all at once today. I crawled into bed to try and forget what happened, but I couldn't fall asleep at all. There's no way I could sleep. Not after everything that happened. I had no choice but to sit in my chair and think. What on earth was it that I saw? Driven by a trembling fear and a shred of curiosity, I opened the internet to look into that convenience store. There were several posts about the convenience store, talking about the clerk's attitude, or the location, or ...whatever. Suddenly, one post caught my eye. Apparently, there was an incident at a house that stood there before the convenience store was built. I decided to look into that comment in more detail. It said that in 2009, there was a murder-suicide committed by the man who was the head of the household. I decided to look up the details of the incident. This is long. On September 14th, while his wife was out buying snacks for their child, the man murdered the child with a kitchen knife. When his wife returned and was in shock seeing the child, he killed her using a different method. After that, he reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself. It's said that the woman he killed was pregnant at the time. And the "different method" used to kill the child was by driving many nails into them; the thought of it made me sick, but I turned pale and investigated even further. Then, I found a comment from someone who appeared to be a former coworker of the man. According to it, the man was frequently bullied by his boss at work and nothing ever went right for him. Thinking about what each family member must have felt when he came home later than usual that day, my mind was flooded with so many thoughts, and a heavy, tangled fog filled my heart. I don’t know how to describe this feeling, but something like this had happened in the past at that convenience store. With tears in my eyes, I quietly closed my laptop and called the store manager, intending to tell him everything I had discovered about what happened during the night shift. However, even though I let the phone ring several times, the manager never answered. I called again and again, but it was the same result. Then , the shift leader, whom I had never met, called me back; I felt a bad omen, but I answered it anyway. Their voice trembling, they told me the manager had passed away. Huh? For a moment, my breathing stopped. When I fearfully asked where he was found, they said it was in the warehouse behind the store. He had apparently been dead for a day. Hearing that, I instinctively dropped my phone. Filled with a sense of helplessness, I quit that part-time job right then and there. After quitting, I didn't want to walk by the store, but I often had no choice and ended up passing it anyway. Whenever I walked by , I felt an eerie gaze, so I tried to walk past as quickly as possible without looking at the building. Some time later, the store went out of business. They said it was due to poor sales, but I don't know the real reason . I no longer had the means or the courage to look into it. As time passed , the memory of what happened at the store began to fade, and I stopped thinking about it. Suddenly. Passing by the abandoned store, I thought I heard a child’s voice, and despite my efforts to avoid it, I reflexively looked at the spot where the store once stood. There, I was in a daze, quietly yet surely picking up a single rusted nail lying in the middle of the vacant lot. Oh. I'm sorry. I'm the type who reads slowly, so I kind of, you know, got left behind a little there. Ah. No, I'm the one who—That's important. This is important. Honestly, when I first saw the video on TV, using a VCR, I don't know how to put it, but it was scary, just this unclear footage that ended in a flash, you know? But the story and the facts that followed were properly explained, and this felt more real. Yeah. Thank you, Chilla's Art. Man, so this is what Chilla's Art is all about.
