Hello everyone, I am Akash Piyar. Today in this video we will learn how to create a project in Django , how to create an application and how to load a theme or we can also say a template in it and how to provide navigation to it ? We will see all these things in one project. But for that first let us see what software is required for JGO. So, for Jango, you must know that we need Python first. Right? So I already have Python installed in my system. If you want to check whether Python is installed in your system or not, then fire this command in your terminal where Python through which you will know that you have Python already installed. Right? After that make sure that the environment variable goes to the path inside the environment variable inside your system. Here you see that the environment variable should be set. For example, here the Python environment variable is also set and along with it this script command should also be there. So what am I doing right now? I am not creating a virtual environment. I am creating the project directly at the project level. Meaning at the system level. So what will we do? Let's clear the screen first. Now we have to install jango. So the command for that is keep install jango. Make sure that you are connected to the internet whenever you are firing this command. So I fired the command here. You can see here I am getting a message that the requirement is already satisfied. This means that I already have jango installed in my system. So what will we do? Next step we will go to D drive. If I want to create a project, then we first clear the screen by writing this command cls and if I want to create a new project, then the command for that is jgo hfn admin then start project and what I am going to do here is I will name my project as My DJ Project and what I do with it is press enter, so see, I am not getting any message here, so how will I know whether the project has been created or not, but there is no acknowledgement here. This means that the project is complete. If you want to see it, you can go to the CD CD Stands for Change directory and what is my project name here? My DJ Project. So I navigated successfully. This means that the project is completed. If you want to run it. I will also write some commands for you in a notepad, see this is the first command in which we will create the project. The command before that was pip install jgo. You should also take a book and a pen, then you will know which commands you have to remember. So the first command was to install. The second command was to create a new project. And what will we do now ? The project has to be run. So here I have to write the command python manage dotpy run server. So what will this command do? Whenever you want to run the project, you will have to write this command. But where? After you navigate inside your project. So right now I'm running here. So look, I'm getting a lot of information here. But you can see my project has been run. On which port number? 8000 rupees. So here as soon as I hold the control key and click on it. So in our default browser, you can see that the project has been successfully created here. So now what is the current version of Jago here ? 6.0 At the time I'm making this video, the version of Django is six. Maybe even when you watch it, there may be some variation in the version. Right? So look here, the project has been successfully completed. I have to stop this server. So I'm going to press Control C here. So now you will go to Google Chrome from VS Code or from CMD to Google Chrome and see the project has been closed. Right now it's showing me data from the cache. So you can also do control shift R. So see what I need to do now is open this up in VS Code. So one command is code space dot or you can also do it through VS code and go to file and open folder. Right? So look here, my project has now been successfully opened in VS Code. Here is my directory structure and here you can see the name of my project was My DJ Project. There are a lot of files inside it. It also has a manage py sqlite 3 database inside it. So let's go through this a little bit now. See manage py, you don't have to do anything here. You don't have to do anything with this default structure. Keep it as it is. But this database which we get by default is asset 3 and if you want to change it in future then you will go inside settings py, then scroll down here, here you will get the database settings. Right now we are not going to discuss anything about the database. But what is a by default database? There are a lot of settings inside the SQLite 3 settingspy. We will keep modifying it as per the requirement. So look here, this is our project which has web server gate interface. A is a file containing the Signos Gate interface. URLs.py We're going to code a lot of navigation here as well later. But the question here is where do I code? Here you can see that I do not have any such HTML file. I don't have any code of any database. So whenever you want to work in Django, you will have to code a little bit manually. So here you have to manually create views.py, see Django is MVT model view template, there is no model file here, neither there is any template folder here nor there is any views file here, so if you want, you can create it manually here, but first let me run it and see whether it runs successfully in VS code or not, then we will go to a new terminal and here you will get the CMD option, if you get powershell many times, then you select the command prompt from here, what was the command, the command was simple python manage.py run server, so see here my project has started but some message is coming in red color, it is telling that you have not migrated the database, means if you see this esculet 3 database, then there is nothing here yet. Look, the database is opening here. Even if it is not there in your system, there is an extension for it called sqlet 3. This is an extension called sqlet 3 viewer, you can install it, then you can view the database here properly and there is another extension like Material Icon Theme, this is my favorite extension, you can see here that many colorful icons are visible because of this extension, so you can install both these extensions, if you want to work in Jango, want to see some good designing etc., then look here, we talk about sqlet 3, here it is giving the message that all these things like admin panel authentication will never run. Why? Because you will have to use another command. That's Python manage dot py migrate. So look, right now the database is completely empty. What if I have to write this command? Python manage dotpy migrate. Will this actually migrate ? So the migration will create our database, the required database, all the tables here. Look here, if I refresh this, then this user table, admin table, everything comes to default here. Right? So see if there is any need to do this right now. But if you do it, it will be good. If you do this, you will not see that red colored error every time. Because our concept right now is how to navigate? How to load a template. So, this is how we have seen how to migrate. Back to our notebook. Here we will write what was the command? Python manage dotpy and then migrate. Right? So how many commands are there? There are four commands. Let's move ahead. So what is our next step? Look, whenever you work in Django, it may happen that you are creating a website in which there is an admin, a user or an employee or any other panel, then you want to keep it separate, so what will we do, let's see how to create an application here inside Django, so again we will write control c in the command prompt, here we will go to python manage.py and here we will write start app my user app. So what am I doing here ? I will fire this command. What will this command do? One user will create the application. Look, I will show you. Press enter. Look, you can see that a completely new folder has been created here. Right? What do we do with this command again? I will write it back here for you. Python manage py start app my user app. Let's see what was the benefit of making this application? Here you can see that many folders have come inside the user app. Here on MVT, I had already told you about the model, here is our model. Py views where what will we do? Whatever views or processing we have to do in our application, we will write them all here. Admin PY means Jango comes with an admin panel by default. If you want to integrate any new models into it, you can do it through the admin. The application is of no use and the need is also of no use right now. But where do we code? In views. So see, whenever we run the project, I go back to run the project. Python manage.py run server. So what was our URL here? 127.08,000 So this is one of our landing pages. What should I do ? This is to change the landing page. So how will we do it? So see, there are a few more steps here. What will we do first? Views dot py Here we will create a function by writing the def keyword home page. What will come inside the home page? So that request will come and what will we return inside the request? So I have to return http response but how will I do that from dot http from jgo dot http import http response I have imported this module right and what will I return here so return http response and here we write hello world inside the H1 tag and what do we do with the H1 tag, close so views inside which we can define our functions. Be it a function or a class. What will happen here? I'm going to print an http response. But how will he score these runs? See, you cannot run it by right clicking. So for that you will have to provide a navigation. So here inside our application we will have to create another file named urls dot py. What will urls.py do? So this will manage our navigation. So what do we have to do for that? Look, if you go inside our project here, you will be a little confused. I will tell you. One is our application. The second is our project. Look, I had deliberately given such a name. One is our main project and one is our application. So if you go to the main project, you will see that there is some code like this for the URLs. Right? So where do I have to put the same code? I have to do it inside my application. Look, I'll turn it all off. So I'm just going to put my urls into dotpy. What will we do here? So I want to import that from jango dot urls import path. First I imported the path module. Then what should I do ? from dot import views. Meaning, I am importing all the views that I have created into the URLs file. And then I want to create a list of URL patterns. If you do not remember this code then go inside the Django project and in URLS dot py you will see this line here from jango dot URLS import Path and URL Patterns inside which Path is written. So what will I do here? I have to give a path, brother my path will be the root directory. So what do we do in the root directory? So which view do I have to load inside views? The home page is to load. Right? So see, this is my specific view for our application, I created views and gave it navigation. If you want to do it twice, we made one for you at home. The second one we will make is for about. Ok? Well, one thing wo n't suffice. I'll make two. One is Home and the other is About. So now I will have to give navigation of about also. Come on, tell me where should I go ? So this is about the application. So you have to go to urls dotpy inside the application. Here I am returning the path after comma. Even if you write home here, it will go to home. Even if you write about here, whom will it load? About Page Right, till now you must have come to know what we will do inside the views, we will define the function for our http, to load it, what I have to do inside urlspy is to define all the URLs, that this function has to be loaded in front of this URL, but our work is still not over, what will we do, see I have created this application but this application will have to be registered, so to register the application, go to your project. Go to Settingspy. What do you need to do in settings.py ? After installing these apps, you will see a list. Please give the name of your app here. What is the name of my app? My User App. So I registered the app. What is the second step, you can see that inside the URL of my main project, only admin is given. Right? So what I have to do is we import the package by including the comma. Then path and what do we write here? What will be the root directory inside it? Include what is the name of our application? My User App dot URLs. So where will all the URLs inside the My User app be referred to? in the root directory. So now you see, let's go to the project and refresh it. Done. Hello World. It was a little difficult and it is still difficult. But what do you have to do? All these steps have to be repeated once. Then you can go and work. Let me come back here and write some notes for you about the project we created earlier. Right? Then what did we do to the database? Migrate. What was the next step ? We created the application. Right? After that I defined functions inside the views. Which ones? Home and About. Then what did I do in urlspy? So navigation is given using the path function and then I registered the app and then after that I included the URLs. There are so many steps. See, if you go here in our project, then here you will write URL as home, see home is coming. Even if you don't write anything, it is still coming home. Why? Because what we wrote in urls.py is that even if the root directory is there, it will still be home. Even if you write home, it will still remain home. But if I'm doing slash about here, you can see about is also coming. But if we write the contact then an error will occur. Because page not found. We have not given any such URL. So let me show you a small example of how you can create an application. How can you make it navigate by defining functions? But look, our project will not be completed like this. What do we need to make the project ? HTML? You will think Sir where is HTML? So look what do you have to do for HTML ? in your root directory. See, this is the root directory. So here I click outside. Here a folder will be created which will be named Templates. It is compulsory for you to keep the templates only. What am I supposed to do inside templates ? I will create an HTML file. Home Then About. Then dot html is okay. Nowadays, no one writes HTML. So you people also know. Give the boiler plate code an exclamation mark. You will have to press enter three times. Ok. So here we will write in home H1 home page. Right then we will go inside about. Similarly, we will go inside the contact. So let us change this. Contact then About and then Home Page. So I created all three files. But how do we load these three HTML files now? So settings will have to be done for that also. So you go back inside your application and go to view.py because our three functions are not here. There are only two functions. But earlier we returned http response. Look, here a package has already been imported in which you can see the render. So what will we use? Render. What will the render do? It will process whatever page we have. So in render the first argument will be request and the second argument will be the name of your HTML. So one of mine is Home. Second, I will be talking about here. And the third one I want to make is for contact. So what will we do here? I will have to change the contact page and URL. So about and then contact. Ok ? So what have I done to page three? I have defined it inside my views. But as soon as you run the application, refresh it, error. Look, I am showing this error so that you know what this error actually says that the template does not exist at about. Meaning when I am writing URL about then that about. is looking for the. But about. I can't find it. Why? Because what will you have to do ? So back inside Django you go to settingspy what's in settingspy? So look here, you will get an option that where is the directory inside the templates? See, here you will have to define the directory for the templates. Right now I have not given any directory so he is not able to find the directory. But you can directly write templates here. But for best practices, what I make you do is that first you go here and import the package, import os right and what we will write here, back on the same line, os dot path dot join means my base directory, I have to join templates with it, okay so now save this file, go to h HTML page, the page is here. What is the matter. So here you have to remember that directories are blank by default. So I want to tell you where is my HTML page? So I have to specify this templates folder here. Right? Well, this work is done. Now I have to provide navigation also. So where do we go to provide navigation? So we'll go back to templates. See home here. This is our file. So if you want me to give you navigation, you use AF. Hyperlink here we will give slush home. You don't have to write HTML. What do you have to write? URL. Which URL? Same thing you have written here. But look, I forgot about the contact. It's good that I opened it. So what will you give as contact here? Page Name Contact Page. So here one is our home, second is our about and third is our contact. So this is our about URL. Here we will give about and here we will give contact. So I have to give the URL as well, slush contact. So now we will go and refresh the home page of our website. So see home about back contact. But you will say sir this navigation should be there in every page. Right? So see what you can do? Copy paste obviously but I do n't even want to copy paste. What should I do ? Like there is a tag in Django, I have to use jgo that I will create only one menu and that menu should appear in every page. Right? So what will we do? Here we create a file by doing a menu. And I paste the code of this menu here. And I have to load this menu in all three pages. So what will we do? Curly bases percentage percentage then we will use include and here we give the name menu dotall. So copy this, save this, copy this once and paste, what do I have to do after going to about, paste, so what I did is that menu is common in a website, right in every page, so I created a separate file for menu, what is there in it, you can inherit the particular html page, you can include it, so what I did with it, I wrote ginger tag and used include here, in which who has to be included, so I have to include menu. So now you will go here and refresh. Look, it has come on every page. Right? So this is one of his advantages. There are many features in Django that you can use. So I used one menu everywhere. So even here you know how we can load a menu. How can we load the HTML file? Revision is done again. So we looked at the URL. So what did we do after that ? Created a templates folder. Inside that we created a home file and we have to go to settings.py every time and what we did there was os dot path dot join which means I connected the base directory, let us now talk about what should happen next, so whenever we create a website there is an important thing in it, tell me what will be CSS and images, right, so here in jgo if you want to load static data like images, CSS, video, audio or JavaScript file, then for that you will have to follow one more step. This is just the last step. So here I turn it all off again. Here you have to compulsorily create a folder in the root whose name will be static. Now, if we want, we can create our own CSS inside this static folder. Now see, we are not taking a lecture on CSS, but let's write a small CSS code, which you would also know, we will go to the body, background color, let's choose which color to take, I think so besque, so save this and close this, that means I have created a CSS, so now I have to load it , where will we go to load it, that is our lovely favorite html homehl, so you would know that the link code comes in CSS by calling link relation style sheet href f, but if you use VS code then link colon CSS should not be used, but it is a shortcut, so this is the path of our CSS in which link relation style sheet href our style dot CSS, but you will go to which home in our HTML page, if you refresh, the effect of CSS did not come, if you right click and go to view source, see, this is the CSS code, if I click on it, what is it saying? Style dot CSS will not be available. Now you will say that Sir, we did not give the path. Write two statics next and then refresh. Still its not working. Right? Let's refresh and see. No. So what's inside Jo? Whenever you have to provide any static data, what will you have to do for that? So there are two things. First you have to go to Settings inside your project. In Py and here we go down. We scroll down. So here I have to define static files under this static file directory. So the folder that I created is not even known to Jengu. So what do I have to do to him ? You will have to register. Os dot pathath dot joi which contains the base directory and what is the name of my folder static The first step we had to do was to register it in our settings py. What is the next step? So in the next step, wherever you have to load any static data of HTML, like in home, then you have to first write in every page percentage Django tag load static, meaning I give permission to load the static file here. And here where you have given the path of CSS, what will we do there? So curly bases percentage percentage next to static what will we do here also? Percentage and then curly busses. So what will he do? Style dot CSS will load from our static folder. So here you have to remember this, curly bases, percentage, percentage, curly bases and static, what do you have to do next? You have to write the name of your file in single ports. So now look, let me go and refresh here. The color has arrived. Wow. So you will have to do these settings. Whenever you need to load any static data. Look, this is one time. You don't have to do it again and again. If you want me to load the image or do anything, you can do that too. For an example, suppose I have this WhatsApp logo. If I want to load this, you drag and drop it. Where? In static. If you want, create another folder inside static. Add images and WhatsApp logo to the images. Ok ? If I want to load it, how will I load it? I MG SRC and what to write ? Remember back where you have curly bases percentage percentage, static inside it and its path like where is it? Image sash WhatsApp dot page so save this is done. It's very easy. Look, if you are learning Jango for the first time then it is a bit tough. I agree. But once you do this and remember all these steps in your mind, then it is very easy. And this has to be done one time, right? Have to do a little every time. Even if you do not make a project once, you will have to do this thing that many times. Once it is done. That's it. So look, we have seen all these things so far. How will the app be made? How to load files into a folder? How to load static data? How to load navigation? Now let us come to our important topic which is how to load the template. Right? So what is template? Suppose you are creating a website for a client or for your college project, then you need a theme in it. Theme means a readymade template. So here I have downloaded a template from the internet whose name is Sticklike. So what should you do with this template? Extract from WinAP or Windrar. And if you look at this template, there is an image folder inside it. There is a CSS folder. If you open this HTML file, then see here, this is a complete template. So how do we load this template ? So let's do this right now inside jango. So what do I have to do first ? Go to this project and see here, I already created the images and CSS. I will delete it. Go to template, sorry go to static, I drag and drop this CSS and image by holding the control key, that is, after that I have to drag and drop, copy paste, you can do it. I'm dragging and dropping here. So see, all these things like style dot CSS and images have come in the static folder. And this is my HTML code which I open either Notepad or VS Code whatever, so I do one thing, I currently have Notepad, so I open it with Notepad Plus Plus, Control A Control C and what will we do, we will go inside our template, right in home.html and what will we do by going here and pasting, that means the entire code of the template has come here and you can see there are about 127 lines of code and now I go to my home page and refresh it, the theme has loaded, oh my god, something has happened, the CSS is missing, the CSS is not coming, the image is not coming, so how will we bring it, so let's do what I have to do, I told you earlier also that whenever some image or CSS is not loading, then what do I have to write, so first I have to write percentage percentage then load static static, is it written correctly, yes and here where the CSS is coming, see, here is the line, what will I do here, static, no no no, curly bases percentage static single course then again Single quotes curly bases before percent save this refresh this but it's not coming. Look, the color is coming out a bit old. See what happens sometimes? Google Chrome or any browser has data in its cache. The catch is if you want to forcefully refresh it, hold the control shift R. This was also a magic, right? Control Shift R Remember this thing. So here comes my theme. But the image is not coming. So what should I write next to the image? Return Curly Bases Percentage static single quotes single quotes and then percentage curly bases save this refresh this. So I have successfully loaded any HTML theme or template inside jgo. But what am I supposed to do now? We have to create a small website in which we can say that the header should be common, the footer should be common, the side bar should also be common. Let me explain it to you. The oldest ones go into paint. If you create any website, then there is a header inside the website. The second is our nav bar or menu. The third thing is our side bar. It may or may not happen depending on the theme. And the last one is the footer. So what I have to do is first identify the header section of this website. I will create a separate HTML file for it. Nav bar, footer, side bar. What will happen with this is that the containment area will remain the same every time. We will create separate files for everything else. So what will be the benefit of that is that whenever there is a change, I have to make the change at one place only. What will remain everywhere else? It will be updated automatically. So from this theme, we first change the unwanted thing i.e. the thing which is not useful. Then we divide it into separate pages. So whenever you take any template etc. for your project or your theme or for your client, first you have to understand the template. By the way, these are comments, they should not be deleted. This title is written here which you can see above. So let me save aksh s.com here and then some fonts are coming from the internet. This is his code. This is CSS code which we will not touch. Look, here you will see Dew in every theme. Which Div is here? Menu. There is a menu inside and menu by menu. So I don't want a menu. Like I don't want a blog, I do n't want photos, I don't want links. So what did I do to him? Delete. But whenever you delete, you have to delete both the opening tag and the closing tag. It's not like you deleted anything. And refresh back. So look at the menus from above. Then look here, there is a division back here where it is written stamp like I will write it. Obviously I will write my name aks.com this is the name of my website. The refresh has arrived. This is dis by, meaning here we can write that it is managed by. I don't want the link. So I'll remove this link. Look, you have your theme, you have your template. Well, you can modify it as per your wish. So it happened in the sky. Let's go down a little bit. Let's scroll down. This is a main division. If you collapse it, you will find that the entire page is inside it. So you have to work carefully. Then back to the div page, meaning this is also a main content. Theme We do not do anything to these images. Here is the pay due content. Look there, this content means this is what is being discussed. And here is this side bar. Meaning side bar, that is, whatever you see on the right side, you can consider it as side bar. So what am I to do? Here I just have to put the title and this small content. So we'll go into the content. See what you have to do? This new one has nothing to do. You can change the content in between. Home Page I don't want this PP tag. What should I do to this? Remove. This is due. I remove the content inside it. Let me write here coming soon. Ok. And look, both of these are beans. Du post du post. So what should I do with this also ? Remove. So let us take a look now. Look, you should remove it carefully. I mean, I work on it every time. The work was done very easily in this. So whenever you delete, you have to delete the due by holding its starting and closing. Then it will work very well. And look at the dew side bar here. So this is about the side bar. Look here UL means unordered list, LI is not required here. I don't want this. Don't want Arcaus. You don't need everything right. So I kept this much and at last let's put footer 2026 and all right reserve theme for which we are giving credit now and then refresh. So this became my little template. If you want, you can create your registration page here, you can create your login page. You can create whatever you want and connect it to the database. But how many times do I need this first? Like right now my home page looks great but the about page looks very dirty. So I need this HTML template in all three pages. So what will you say? Sir Control A, Control C, Control V. Let me do the same. But if I make some changes in the menu then I will have to go to all three pages and make the changes. Right? So what we do is that whatever is common in our website, like the menu is common, the logo is common. So from here I'm going to do this control x cut and I'm going to create a file inside my templates and call it menu dot html, but that was already there. So I delete this menu and paste the themed menu. And then at the same place from where you made the cut, you will write percentage then include, what will we write here? Single course menu dot html and save it and take a look. Everything is going well. If I remove this line then it's gone. Meaning we did the right thing here. Then the second one is our side bar which is also going to be common. Due to this, from here I go to Control X template and go to side bar dot HTML Control V and what will we do here ? Percentage than include here we will write side bar dot HTML so this is also running. If you want to see it, I'll cut it. It went out. I will undo it. I have arrived. The last one footer. So I remove the footer as well. Look, if you feel that you have to make it common then only do it. Well, I feel it is like doing something common. I will show you why. fatterhtml and what will we write here percentage include ? Footer dot html hurry up let's go done. So look, out of my 127 lines, I did 47. Now do you know what its benefit was? Your focus will be only on your content. If you want to make some changes in the menu then go to the menu file. If you want to make some changes in the side bar then go to the file of the side bar. And this is our home code, we call it Control A, Control C, and do you know what you have to do? Your favorite thing and mine is Control V will go back to Contacts and Delete Control V. So now you see, this is my home. Even if you write about here, the home page is visible. But you still have one more thing to do. For example, if you go to about, what will you write? About Us instead of Home Page. If we go to then contact then here we will write contact us. Right? And if you have to provide navigation, where will you go? Look here in the menu, the hyper link has to be given, Slush Home, then here Slush About and then Slush Contact Save this home page About Us is not working, wait a second why is it not working, let me check once, everything is fine, yes refresh home page About Us Contact Us is working. Look, I am clicking on the home page , about page, contact page. Right? Now suppose I feel that I have to change the name of Akash Sir. So what will you do? Where do I want to go? In the menu. So here we replace Akash Sir with Akash Technol Laps. Save, see, the home page has also changed, about page has also changed and contact page has also changed. If you want me to create a form in Contacts , connect it to a database, what do you do? Take a form tag. You can add label tags etc. inside the form as per your wish. So let me take here name input type text. I am not giving anything away right now. Took a simple text box. Put the buttons on. Input type like submit see it has come. You can do this a little better like CSO etc. So this is our small website in which navigation is taking place. Home Page About Us and Contact Us. So here in Django we learned how to create an application, how to create a project, how to do migration , all these things are covered. And if you say sir, I also want to create an admin panel. See, if you want, you get admin panel by default inside Jango. So what should you do? Press Control C here. Control C means our server has stopped and what should I do? See, the database of the admin panel is already created here. You might have noticed that there is already an URL in urlspy inside the project, what is its name ? Admin. But if you open this then you need a login panel for that. Meaning, users are needed. So if you have to write a new command python manage.py create superuser why did I write this command? Because I need to access the admin panel. So for that I need username. I will write it down Akash. I will enter the email ID right now. I will not tell you the fake akshgmail.com password and it will not be visible either. Done. But what is he saying? The password is very weak. You have to move forward. Security will not be provided. No problem. Yes. So my super user was created. Let me run it now. Python managey run server and I go to my URL and I'm going to write admin here. By default, the admin panel is available inside O Chango. My username was Akash, I will not say the password back. And then log in so this is one of my admins. Similarly, if I want to open a user, what will we write? Nothing. So this is our user. So home page about us contact us and this is our admin panel. So this was a small video, I can't say much. It was a very big video. You will think that the work was done very quickly. But you should watch this video two-three times, practice it and you should remember all these steps. Right? I have also noted here which other commands were there. We added one more command. Python manage dotpy create super user. Right? So, this was one of our Django projects in which we saw a lot of things and you have to do this for your client's project or for your college project. Right? So, I hope you liked this video. You must have learned a lot through this video. So, share your comments and like and subscribe. See you in the next video. Thanks for watching this video. Thank you.
