En 1985 fue realizado el segundo mundial de Fútbol de Salón en España, nuevamente ganado por Brasil. Ya en 1988 el tercer mundial de Fútbol de Salón fue realizado en Australia y ganado por Paraguay. FIFA y Fútbol Sala En 1989 la FIFA – Federación Internacional de Fútbol – resolvió entrar en la disputa por el control del Fútbol de Salón, creando un nuevo deporte y nombrándolo Fútbol Sala o Futsal..
