Today is day one of the how to build and scale to $10,000 in monthly revenue in less than two weeks. Now, to start, you want to define your idea, what the problem you're solving actually is. So, here we're going to be working on an app to help people improve their gut health. There are a few reasons that I chose this idea to work on. One of which is the fact that I've been struggling with major gut issues the past couple of weeks or the past month actually and I started to do more research about it and I realized that it's a massive problem that a lot of people deal with. If we take a look at Google trends we can see the increase in popularity of terms like microbiome and terms like gut health. We're going to build cali but for gut health. Instead of tracking your calories each day, you can track things like the FODMAP score of the food that you're eating and the acidity levels. Now, for the sake of this challenge, we're not looking to scale to millions of dollars a month. And I doubt that that's what most people watching this video are looking to do. We're looking to build an app that solves a clear problem that people have. I've been using Chat GPT to get ratings on things like acidity, FODMAP, inflammation, and other attributes of the food that I eat. And I realized that if I just had a user interface like Cali, it would make it a lot easier for me to see it all in one place and then get recommendations on how to improve my diet. So now we'll move into the process of actually building the app. In the past, every single no code tool that I use was terrible until now. I got a text from somebody about this app. anything. I began trying it out and I was like, "Wo, we are finally at this aha moment where there are no code tools that can actually build you a functional app that will make you money." Being that most people that DM me or try to get in contact don't want to actually learn how to write code themselves, I figured what better way to show people how to build apps than to use one of these tools that does it for you. In this video, we're going to be using Create Anything. Of all the apps that I've tried, create anything is by far the best for building mobile apps. So once you get to this point, you're going to want to write up a very detailed report of exactly what it is that your app looks like and what it does. So we're building digest. Digest will allow you to track diet activities, supplements, and other categories. We'll give some scores and other metrics for the user to make more informed eating decisions. So now I'm just going to copy all of this content that I wrote up about what I want to see in the app itself. I'll paste it into create anything.com and I'll add a reference image here. I'm going to provide cali and I will say use the attach image for UI guidelines. All right, at this point you kind of just sit back, wait a couple of minutes. Here I like to do a little bit more market research, maybe explore social media for uh marketing strategy, whatever it may be. Do whatever you want and in about two minutes you'll have a complete initial version of your application. All right, so we entered our first query. It gave us a response. It had a small error. It literally let us just press fix on the screen. So we just pressed one button. It sent this message and then it fixed itself. And now we have a functioning initial version of the application. So let's test to see if the API endpoints are working to actually analyze the food that we upload. So I'll go ahead and I'll say that I had 12 strawberries. Now the application is going to take that data, pass it through OpenAI, and it's giving it a digestion score and updating our gut balance. All right. Now let's say something like something a little bit ridiculous like 2 gallons of orange juice. Now, ideally, if it's built out well, it'll give us not a great score for that. And there we are. Bad digestion score. It looks like it's not updating the gut balance really well. So, we can just say to the AI, hey, there's something wrong with this. Let's give it a fix. So let's say let's start the scores each day at question mark and only populate after we have at least one item uploaded. Make sure to update the gut balance, inflammation, digestion, and acidity scores with each upload. And then, from what I can tell, that's pretty much all that we need right now. You know what? We might want to be able to tap into the logs. So let's say let's also add additional data for each log so that we can tap in and see a more indepth analysis. Let's also center gut balance into its own button or its own component with a light background similar to the other scores. All right, that looks about good. So we can just go ahead upload that and the AI will make the changes. Now, in the meantime, I'm going to pull out my phone, scan the QR code on the screen over here, and I'll open the app that I just created onto my phone so that I can begin using it like an actual user will. Now, while I'm waiting for the AI to write the code, something that I'll usually do is go ahead and see if there's anything that I may have missed in my most recent query and see if there's anything else that I want to add. Now, you can see here as well, I've already got the app loaded onto my phone. And now that I have it on my phone, I opened up the text field to add an entry and it didn't properly rise up. So I'll go ahead and say that as well. The text field and input component so that I can see what I'm typing. This is so cool. You can even see that it's using the browser while it's generating code for me. Let's go ahead and take a look at what it's doing here. Wow, that's insane. Okay, so create anything. One thing that you guys might notice is that the UI for this is way better than any of the other AI no code tools if you've ever tried them out. Now, one of the reasons for this is that their agent mode, which I think is on the Max plan, is able to take screenshots of the app to verify that it's actually doing and making the changes that you want. And now you can see it's also using the actual application and seeing how it responds, taking screenshots of the feedback, updating, seeing whether or not everything is working properly while also being able to see all of the source code while that's occurring. To be honest, from what I understand after speaking with their team, I think that this is what makes anything that much better than all of the other no code tools to date. Okay, so let's go ahead and try this out. say two gallons of orange juice. And there it is. We've got the full-on report. This is actually super helpful. There are probably some changes that we're going to want to make to the scoring and to the analysis so that it can take in previous data and that sort of thing, but overall this is pretty incredible being that I've given it two or three prompts and we already have an application that looks like this and is actually functioning. Now, another note is that they enable you to add in your your API keys to ensure that the app will actually work once you publish it to the app store. So, here I just went ahead and added my OpenAI API key. And at this point, I'm going to take another 30 minutes to an hour to go back and forth improving the app, adding a payw wall to get it to the point where I can push it to the app store. And then all I have to do is press publish in the top right corner. And then I can go through this flow where I add information like my Apple ID. and then I'll be on the app store. Usually, it takes a few back and forths with the Apple review team to actually get approved. So, this is probably going to wrap up day one, but on day three or four, I'll check back, see the status of the app, as well as the beginning of my marketing plan and how I actually intend to drive users to this app that I just built with Create Anything. So, stay tuned. You'll hear from me in about 10 seconds, but that'll be two or three days down the line, and I'll give you guys an update on where the app is at. It is now day seven of how to build and scale to 10K MR in under 2 weeks. And we are officially live on the app store. We went through the process of back and forth rejection and review with the App Store. This is very, very normal if you're new to building apps. You almost always get rejected multiple times. Don't worry, just make the adjustments, explain why you should be accepted, and keep resubmitting. So, in part one, we built the majority of the app with anything, the AI app builder, which I recommend if you want to get started today. But now, we're moving on to the marketing/social media side of things. So, to start, you're going to want to set up your social media accounts. I went ahead and already did this. So, we've got the Instagram active over here. I use pretty much the same sort of structure and aesthetic for each of my apps in terms of brief description of how the app works in the bio and then the preview screens pinned to the top of the profile and then maybe you include some research too. So story here explaining how the app works. You can do the same thing for Tik Tok. I don't have it quite as set up yet, but generally the same structure. One important recommendation is that you should not use smmflare.com to increase social validation. I am not sponsored. There are a number of other sites you could use as well, or rather other sites that you should avoid as well. That would be a really bad idea to buy likes or followers. So, once you've got your social media accounts set up, it's time to begin influencer outreach, setting up paid ads, and beginning UGC. For the most part, this is how you're going to drive traffic for people to download your application. There are obviously a lot of other forms of marketing, but in this new playbook that I and many others have been using, the strategy, this is the cheapest and easiest way to get your app in front of thousands to millions of people. Influencer outreach, the number one recommendation I have is to create your content brief and update this as you go. So, here I've got a super basic brief. I do this for pretty much all of my apps. You include what the app does, the content requirements, content ideas, and then link to download. As you start to do promos with influencers, you can add in additional links of videos that have done well. You'll also want a contract itself, but this content brief is what I'll send to influencers right as we begin conversation so they understand what we're looking for. You can keep it pretty basic, but it should provide the necessary information for them to know what they're getting themselves into. Next up, you want to set up your meta ads SDK and Tik Tok measurement partner. Now, you don't need to do this if you don't want to run paid ads, but this is kind of like the second pillar of marketing. So, we've got influencer, paid, and then UGC. So, I'll step back to influencer for a sec as well. We go over some of my uh DM outreach. I've been DMing creators for the past few days. It's very common that they send their email over, so then you shoot them an email. My recommendation if you're trying to get in touch with creators is that you should be DMing hundreds per day on Instagram, Tik Tok, and email combined, if you send out 10 messages a day and you're confused why you're not getting enough responses because you're not sending out enough messages. Your uh your message should be pretty straight to the point, let them know that you mean business and that you want to work together. Now, in terms of creating content, recently I've been working on a tool myself that can generate AI UGC content. I may or may not include this in a video. This will be kind of a soft launch of the platform if I do. But here, when you sign up, you just add your brand information. I'll do this really quickly. Digest mobile app. I could enter more. Create brand. Then it'll create this and go here and create new. Um, you create your account. You can select an influencer. So, I've already used this influencer, so I'll go with a different one. You upload your demo video. Use smart generation. And here, I'll just display a video that I've already generated. So, this is the kind of hook plus demo format. Pretty popular. So, I don't know when we're going to launch this platform, but ideally within the next few weeks to to a couple months, we'll have something live that other people can use, too. In fact, we might even have it ready for this video. We'll have to see. But yeah, that's pretty much it. This is the process of scaling up, distribution, ads, generating views, and downloads. And in a couple days, we'll check back to see where we think the downloads are coming from and how well they have been converting for the app. So, that wraps up day seven. I'll see you guys in another few days. It is day 12 and we are at about $1,000 in revenue. Now, let's start by checking out the social media pages. I think that we went over this in day seven, so not too much has changed here. We've got a link as well, but that's not showing up on desktop for whatever reason. Then we've got Tik Tok. I don't know if you guys can see here, but our video did about 5,000 views. Some of that was driven from traffic from our influencer posts. Looking good. People are going from this Tik Tok to the link and downloading the app. Now, in the past seven days, we've done about a thousand downloads and $500 in sales. This is not good. This is about 50 cents per download. We noticed this and started to make some adjustments. We ported the app off of anything and started to improve it. Now, anything's amazing because you can build your app super fast, get it on the app store, and start to see the results. Now, once you want to scale and continue to make those improvements in its current form if your app has traction on social media, I'd recommend porting it off, making the edits, and going from there. So, that's what we did. We ported it off. We added Superw Wall, and we'll show the updates. So, in the past 24 hours, we've done almost 1,000 downloads and about $600 in sales. Now, you might say that that's not a major improvement, but we've also had a lot of trial signups. So, this will probably convert to around $500 in additional sales, meaning this will be just under a thousand downloads for just over $1,000 in sales. Now, as we continue to improve the app, I think that we'll be able to continue to increase that number. This is why Super Wall is so valuable. It just makes it so much easier to improve your revenue per user by trying out different offerings, different payw wall funnels, like the way in which you have different screens come after one another, as well as design. So, that's pretty much where we're at right now. We're at just over a dollar per download. We've got a couple of posts that have gone out, and the next steps over the next two or three days are to scale up influencer posts, UGC, paid ads, and continue to improve the app itself. In the next part, I will review some of the posts that have driven up us the most traffic. And you know, we might not hit $10,000 total in revenue in under two weeks. But I think that within the first 14 days, we'll be at around 3 to $5,000 in revenue and then it would just be a matter of a number of days after that before we actually hit 10,000. But for the sake of this challenge, you know, if we hit 5K, we'll call that 10K in monthly annualized revenue. Something like that. That's pretty much where we're at right now for the first 12 days. I'll be back in about 10 seconds for you guys to review the next few days and go a little bit more in depth on what we've done, what has worked, and what hasn't. So, see you guys soon. Today is day 16, and the final result is that we hit about $4,000 in revenue in just over 2 weeks, meaning we're almost at a $10,000 monthly run rate. So, we'll consider this challenge half completed. You know, we didn't hit the official 10K MR in under two weeks, but we got just about there. And I think that we definitely learned a lot from this challenge. And ideally, there are some great takeaways for you guys, and we'll go over that right now. All right, let's go and take a look at our stats in App Store Connect. So, here we edited the parent app to digest because we have my UMAC stats in here as well. So, you'll see that in the past 30 days, or really the past like 5 days, we've done about 3.7,000 downloads. Now, what's interesting is you see that we did almost a,000 downloads on November 16th, but only like $300 in sales. That was because we had an influencer post go up that day. That was very subtle integration, as well as we didn't have the Super Wall optimizations baked into the application itself. Um, and you'll see here that we've done about 3.5,000 in sales. But if we go to the past 24 hours, there's about 500 that we've done since midnight. So, we are at about $4,000 in total sales here. So, there's nothing too important here except for the note about the lower converting content traffic on November 16th as well as our sub optimized or poorly optimized payw walls at that point. I think on the $4,000 that we've generated in revenue, we've spent somewhere in the ballpark of $4,000 as well. So, right about at break even. So to wrap up how we built the app, create anything.com to build the first version. If you find product market fit, people start to respond to your product, they like it, and you can download the code, make some improvements, add Superwall to optimize payw walls, which I'll touch on in a second. Okay. Now, how we scaled the app, right? How do we earn the additional few thousand in revenue over the past few days? UGC content did okay, but honestly, this usually takes a little bit longer to get running. It's really high profit margin if you can crack it, but it's harder. And so, honestly, it uh it really depends on your product. Now, this is important for optimizing your Instagram or Tik Tok as we showed earlier. The majority of our revenue came from influencer posts. So, we'll take a look at one and review it right now. So, we paid this creator a couple thousand bucks. >> So, here are three things you need to know if you don't know where to start. Number one, understand your gut affects everything. There's so much research on this. Your gut can literally be the root cause of your skin issues. energy crashes, bad focus, and even how fast you gain or lose weight. If your gut is off, you are off. >> So, this is really key here. We had the first tip that she gives is reinforcing the idea that gut health is super important, right? We didn't lead immediately with the app itself. >> Fixing it should be one of your top priorities. Number two, use tools that make it easy for you. Work smart, not hard. I use digest which is >> now this is the very seamless transition over to >> your gut tracks your symptoms and habits and shows you patterns you never notice on your own. Number three, clove water. Boil water, add cloves and cinnamon and drink it like tea. It's budget friendly, super easy to make and amazing for your own. >> And then we kind of have additional recommendations to make it feel very natural. So these are the sort of posts that work best for the for digest. We did a few other posts where creators tried to lead into Supercell integrations and they didn't perform that well. Meanwhile, uh the targeted advice content did. And I think that the important distinction here is when you have an app that solves a very specific problem that people experience, right? Like gut health is something that you kind of either experience issues with it or you don't. So when you're solving problems in those sort of domains, you want to go with more targeted advice. Whereas when you're solving a super general problem that you can go with a slightly more subtle integration. We uh set up paid ads but it didn't really work. We had some major attribution issues. Um this is very common if you've ever dealt with it. Now moving forward how we would scale this app. So at this point this is pretty much how almost every app I've built goes. You try out everything and you get immediate hits on certain uh domains or strategies. So the main hit that we had here was influencer post with targeted advice. So now what we're going to do moving forward is we would really lean into influencer post with targeted advice. At the same time, we'll still kind of try to get UGC going. We'll try to fix the attribution with paid ads and we'll still try some of the more subtle integration influencer posts, but we'll take the data that we got and we'll invest most of our time and resources into it. Right? This is how optimization across any domain goes. Just because you find success within one vertical, one funnel, doesn't mean that you completely ignore everything else. But it does mean that you put more effort into that to continue to nurture and grow the product. Now, are we going to continue to grow digest? I'm not certain, honestly. It was a fun challenge here, but we've got a few other products that we're working on, too, that we'll be making videos about in the future. And so, I consider this uh I consider this a success. And yet at the same time, sometimes you build an app, you market it, you make a few thousand bucks, and you realize that, you know, if we really put the time and effort into Digest, maybe gets to 50, 100K MR. And where I'm at right now, I don't know that that is necessarily where I need to invest the majority of my time. But to everybody watching, I hope that you learned something. If you guys have any questions about this sort of playbook, what I'm using today to build and scale apps, drop a comment and I'll try to respond to every single person in the comment section. If I do not do that, you guys should call me out. I will uh I'll do my best. We'll say within the first week or two at least. So, thank you guys very much for watching and I'll keep y'all updated. I do intend to start making more educational content again. I know I'd done it a little while back, almost a year ago, and kind of stopped. you know, I feel like I have a lot of insight and learnings within this space that I uh I want to get back to sharing it.
This is the final episode of my 5-part series where I walk through the complete process of building and scaling a no-code app from zero to $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue. In this video, I cover the strategies I used to actually hit $10K MRR, including marketing tactics, growth strategies, and the real numbers behind the journey. Disclaimer: I hit just over $4k revenue in two weeks which is about $10k monthly run rate haha. I wasn't working full-time during this challenge and only did marketing for a few days. This is definitely metric hacking to some extent.
