The video "The Journeys and Writings of Paul Class 3" presented by Epic Church International is an educational session discussing the background, character, conversion, and writings of the Apostle Paul. The session is structured around lessons from the Book of Acts, highlighting Paul's transformation from a persecutor of Christians to a key figure in early Christianity.
“I made all things to all men that I might by all means save some.”
The class emphasizes the necessity of allowing God to work within us to shape our character and purpose. Paul's life serves as a model for believers to follow, demonstrating that significant change is possible through faith and divine intervention. The video encourages viewers to reflect on their spiritual journeys, remain open to transformation, and actively participate in God's workings, regardless of their current state.
welcome back welcome back to class number three of paul's journeys and writings uh today we will try and finish up on lesson number one and maybe maybe get into lesson number two let's open up in prayer and father we thank you lord god for your goodness your grace and your mercy as always lord god as we look into the book of acts we look into the life of paul we look into what you did through him what you did for him and what was the results of it we want to see the change in him so that we can see the change in ourselves lord god we want to be filled with faith that we trust you that all that you're doing father god everything you're cleaning out and everything you're putting in father's always for our benefit and for our good and we thank you father for a spirit of wisdom and revelation concerning the knowledge of you and what you're doing in jesus name amen amen all right so uh in our last class i just want to rehearse a little bit in our last class we looked at some paul's background identities right he said that there was some conflict between theologians about whether paul had been married or not and the reason for that was because they believe he was part of the sanhedrin uh some believe that he was part of sanhedrin therefore he had to be married if you were part of the sanhedrin some believed his wife may have died some say that he may have gotten a divorce but there's no mention of it and so we can't assume anything but i just tell you those things just so you have some background in your mind we also said that he was a man of the city he knew how to deal with people he was tarsus the town that he came from uh was a fairly big town it was a commercial town it was probably a lot like new york city i guess what we're really trying to say is he had a lot of street smarts he knew he knew how to handle himself we also said that he was a pharisee he said he was a pharisee of all pharisees in other words he was he had zeal that went beyond the normal pharisee he knew how to read and write he studied the law and was so well versed in the scriptures that he could quote them and of course it was through the knowledge of these scriptures that god was able to in the end when god was using him after he was born again was to allow him to identify with christ he would see that ribbon that red ribbon that would be running from the old testament that he was used to and how it was reflected in what god was revealing to him about jesus he began to see jesus everywhere in the old testament all right after being born again other characteristics that manifested were keen intellect he was very smart but he got smarter why because the wisdom of god was now available to him he had a sensitive nature god hadn't developed that we see that along the way paul got he was a little gruffy but in the end we see through his letters that he was he learned how to to tone it down and to become more sensitive to the things he said he gave himself as an example as a father and then as a mother and so it was a loving kind relationship that he had with people and so he had to have that reactivated all right uh we said that he had favor with god he had immense energy coupled with strong determination paul wasn't the type of person to give up on anything even though he faced difficulties that never hindered him from accomplishing the goals that he set out to do so today we pick up with uh with his desired ability to be all things to all men that some might be saved let's turn to first corinthians chapter nine first corinthians chapter nine and we're going to begin reading in verse 19. he says in verse 19 for though i be free from all men yet have i made myself servant unto all that i might gain the more and unto the jews i became as a jew that i might gain the jew to them that are under the law as under the law that i might gain them that are under the law to them that are without the law as without law be not without law to god but under the law to christ that i might gain them that are without the law in other words they had no covenant uh they didn't observe the things of the law but yet paul said i was keen enough not to break any of the laws there was openly uh spit on the laws he's when he was with the gentiles but he ate food with them that they normally ate and uh he sat with them when they normally jew wasn't supposed to sit with a gentile and so he did all those things that he might let the gentiles know that he was one of them so to speak he was using that street smarts he was one of the group yet they could identify with where he was coming from uh always remember that everything that paul was talking about he would talk about based on being born again being being having jesus being in your life all right verse 22 to the week became i as weak that i might gain the weak i made all things to i made all things to all men that i might by all means save some and this i do for the gospel sake that i might be partakers thereof with you so paul's whole life remember we're studying a little bit about paul now paul's whole life prepared him for this one thing where he was raised the different cultures that he intermingled with remember he spoke at least three different languages he spoke hebrew greek and aramaic he was able to communicate with the romans when he had to speak to the romans he used greek if he had to speak or or if he had to speak to the jew he spoke jewish hebrew right all right to add all this was his willingness to allow god to further change him he had all these attributes that he had in his natural life but then he was open to what god was doing in his own life i will tell you that at one particular point in time i had i had a severe problem with anger now it could have been possibly with the job and i let all those things open me up to what the enemy brought in was that spirit of anger because i got met at taxi cabs i got mad at people i got then i just couldn't even drive uh under normal conditions with myself on the road without having to challenge everybody that was on the road with my anger and god had to deal with me about that and so it's the thing that god is doing in me he's doing something else in you but in each one of us he is changing or conforming us to the image of his son jesus and that's what he was doing here with paul he was he was going to take all the things that paul was and he's going to take the good and he was going to magnify it he was going to take the bat he was going to present it to paul and say we have to remove this and that's the things that we have to remember when god is working in us if we want to be used of god then we must allow god to change us to give us new desires all right to want to see god's will be done on this earth that's the most important thing for each one of us we have to remember just as paul got focused on what was the will of god not only for himself personally but overall what was the plan that god would reveal to him and that he would work diligently towards having that goal accomplished in his life and we have to take on the same things we have to look at what does god want to accomplish overall and then what does god want to accomplish through our life and we have to get determined that we are not going to get so caught up in the world system in the world and in the natural that we're going to forget or place second the things of god paul jesus said if a man turns back to do something in here in the earth then in the world then he's not worthy of the kingdom we we want to be worthy of the kingdom jesus has made us worthy well enough but each one of us has that that uh place where we have to yield to what the spirit of god is doing in us so that we can be all that god wants us to be so in order for us to follow after what paul said to follow after him as he follows after christ we must be willing to lay down our wants and goals and take up god's desires okay all right so let's go to part d paul's training we have to remember that we are studying the man paul we should should desire to attain some of the attributes that paul displayed the good attributes the parts that god had to take and pull out you want to follow those that's why paul says as you see me follow christ you follow me that means the things when he got in the early days when he had a little issue with with anger i'm assuming because what i read and we see that god had eventually take to take that and deal with that and pull that out and so we allowed we allowed to be like paul we have to allow god in and to take out the things that he doesn't want to so let's talk a little bit about paul's training paul number one was raised up in a jewish home he was a roman citizen by birth because his father probably had some wealth his father being a jew an influence uh probably owned a big business uh perhaps he bought into uh a roman citizen a roman citizenship he may have bought it but paul was born a roman citizen even though he was jewish all right he went to school at the age of five and learned hebrew he learned greek which was the main language in tarsus so we see how he had to learn both hebrew and greek the aramaic was it was like that like the the crusty word it was like it was like new yorkies like talking like i talk you know what i'm saying uh and so it was like a mixture and so he learned that too all right he was taught to be aggressive to take action to be a leader he wasn't one to sit back and just let things happen he was the one that jumped right in and take and take charge over something if he saw something that needed to be done he would be there to do it number three it was a natural thing to learn to trade usually from your father in those days when uh it was handed down businesses were handed down we do see that from time to time now but basically that's the way life was in the time of paul you learned your trade from your dad you worked there as an early age you learned to take what was going on in the business you learned the whole thing and when dad was ready to retire or he died you took over and so paul learned how to do what his dad was doing and what was he he was a tent maker he made sales now we we think about tents and sales now you don't even think you can make a living doing that now but we have to remember that people when they were moving from place to place oftentimes they took tents to live in as they walked from town to town or from country to country they they didn't have planes and airplanes and and uh trains and cars so they did a lot of walking or didn't walk down with used horses but in either case they couldn't travel many miles in one day and they'd have to usually stay overnight they would use tents and so there was a big call for tents we know that there was big sales that was on ships right they were sitting people use ships to sail they sailed with commerce and so there was a lot of call for the sales that was on the ship there was no motorized then everything had to be done by sales and so it was a popular business and it was a good business and paul learned the whole thing right uh this would come in handy for paul by the way when he was uh ministering out ministry to the different people to different places he would go in to the companies that were doing these things and he would go to work for them making decent money so that he didn't have to make a demand on the people that he was ministering to he didn't have to take up collections right away for himself necessarily all right he would always pay his own way not saying that he didn't take up offlines he took up offerings but they basically were for people that had lack the jews in jerusalem if you remember the jews in jerusalem oftentimes once they got known to be christians they lost their jobs lost their family lost a lot of things and so a lot of them were plunged into poverty and so paul would take up offerings from the different towns that he would go to and he would send the offerings back to jerusalem to pay the jews to help them live all right number four uh he took part in jewish rights learned he learned all about them and what they stood for in other words it's it's like christians today we we we know that jesus hung out across but we maybe often times we don't know about that but his stripes were healed we don't know about the authority that we've been given through jesus christ to be able to deal with demons because we've never heard some of those things all right so but paul experienced all those things he experienced all the different rights that went on that took place and he knew what they stood for now what does that do for him well that made him a good pharisee in those days but at the same time once he became born again and he could see that ribbon that was running through the old testament that led to jesus he could identify with jesus back in the old testament and that's what he shared with the jews all right paul sat uh under a pharisee named gamalia who was a strict teacher of the law and a leader of the sanhedrin this man was gentle and paul would fall back on this upbringing after he was born again in other words you know how we say that knowledge puffs up all right so we have to understand that paul was very smart he had he had a lot of intelligence regarding the old testament and the jewish laws and so that made him aggressive paul was naturally it could be naturally aggressive but at the same time he had some training to show that gentleness and god would once again once he became born again deal with that to bring that to the surface again number six because of paul's zeals he advanced past many of those who he was schooled with when he said he was a pharisee of pharisees it meant that once he started with school he would just delve into it he didn't he just focused and just went on ahead he passed and passed a lot of people by he became the pharisee of pharisees now remember what the sanhedrin was the sanhedrin was the ruling legal body of the jewish nation uh they would be like the supreme court when it came to crimes against the jewish law now you have to we have to be able to discern the jewish law that was being broken they would be dealt with by the jews if you broke a roman law you get the you got dealt with by the romans right now once again many believe that he was not remember i told you there was the people that believed that he was married or that his wife died or that he was divorced because he was a member of the sanhedrin and all those in the sanhedrin had to be married well now there's the other side of the group who believe that though he hung out with the sanhedrin people that he was not a member of the sanhedrin all right and so we all we know is that paul never mentions anything about being married and therefore uh we can't assume anything one way or the other all right part e in your outline he was a persecutor of the early church the first time paul is mentioned is in acts chapter 7 verse 58 let's just read that all right acts 7 verse 58 and cast him out of this city and stone them to speaking about stephen and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet whose name was saul in other words all these men that were part of the sanhedrin and the law said that a few uh what they thought was the law they would take you out outside the city and stone you to death now we see that paul didn't throw the stones but he held the clothes and so that's why some say he was part of sanhedrin and some say he was not paul was present though at the time they see stephen and brought him before the council he was there when paul when when stephen was given his whole testimony paul sat listening to stephen when they rushed and took steven out to be stoned paul was one of them the older pharisees probably gave paul the chore of taking care of their garments which they removed before stoning stephen now this this expectation by stephen didn't seem like much at the time to paul but we will see god has begun to work in him now what i'd like to do just back up to acts chapter 6 for a moment i want us to read a verse verse 10 in acts chapter 6 of that 7 go back one chapter it says in verse 10 and they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake they couldn't resist the cope with stephen's words of wisdom and spirit in which he spoke remember these men were the highest learned men concerning jewish law and history and stephen in in chapter seven gives them the whole lineup of what happened to the jew in the old testament okay and uh he was probably very well versed himself so there we have to remember uh these things there are times when we hear things and they go against everything we know and believe yet we somehow uh no it is true when we hear things like we're being taught in this class or like you're taught in church you know when you're taught when the pastor's teaching when you're taught uh other classes suddenly it goes against what you normally would think but somehow there is a there's truth that's riding with it and you almost have to say no i'm not going to listen to it right the whole foundation on which we base our lives is maybe taking a major shock often times we resist not wanting to seem foolish even to ourselves in other words no one wants to feel stupid but paul got to that place where he said you know what i was done i didn't know anything about what i was doing it it was contrary to the things of god i thought i was doing things for god and yet now i see that i was not i was actually working against god and so god we're going to cover this shortly we're going to see that god uh does deal with paul and paul is resisting him all right i want to read something out of matthew chapter 13. and we're going to be two verses 12 and 13 it's an example of what happens when god meets up with man and man just like we said here uh pride and ego take over and their foundation of what they believe and stand for is now face to face with the truth about the things of the gospel and because of pride and ego they just will not allow that to come in they just disregard it shut it off i'm sure that you have seen that perhaps in your life and if not in your life personally you've seen it in other people's lives no matter how much you try to share jesus sometimes people they go bonkers now listen to what what jesus said in chapter 13 verse 13 talking about when uh chapter 12 uh 13 verse 12 this is now jesus talking he was sharing a lot of parables with with the people that were around him and then when they got together by themselves the apostles said to jesus how come you keep teaching them parables and so jesus said in verse 12 for whoever has to him more will be given and he will have abundance but whoever does not have even what he has will be taken from him therefore i speak to them in parables because seeing they do not see and hearing they do not hear nor do they understand in other words jesus was teaching them when he taught in parables it was something that they could identify with easily not only did he speak the things of god but he gave examples so that they could basically understand but he has to think about parables it had to be a revelation that had to come and they had to want to know what the truth was and so when they heard it he said in hearing they don't hear and see they see me they see what i'm doing they see everything i'm saying they see the attention that i'm giving to them they see it but they don't see it they refuse what it is that they are seeing and so we have to be careful so we have to remember all this causes us to do rash things they they we don't want to do rash things anymore we want to be down settled into the things of god and we want to be focused and we want to go where god wants us to go right now listen by the way stephen's account acts 7 of the history of israel the jewish nation should be read by you several times it is excellent it gives you some history about what went on in the old testament all right stephen shows them that down through their history the nation of israel often rejected the things of god and though they studied the word eventually all they did was pick and choose now that is the one danger that we have to be careful of at all times we cannot pick and choose what it is we are going to follow if the word says this about something then that settles it it's got to settle it in our mind and if that means we have to change then we have to change right that's what paul did he was willing to change he said i count those things before that i thought i understood as dumb he says why because they didn't it didn't profit me and profit me with the world but but the main thing with god it didn't profit me anything he said so i had to leave those things behind and allow god to create new things in me right uh we want to be careful that we don't reject what it is that god is saying and one of the easiest things is unforgiveness we reject the people we reject what god wants us to do to be always be forgiving and kind to one another and sometimes people just hurt us uh sometimes unintentionally and yet we hold on to that unforgiveness and it really changes you and me opens up doors that we don't want to open up right and so we have to remember then that we are not going to reject what god says regardless of what takes place in our lives we are just going to stay focused on what god is saying to do and we're just going to march our path to destiny right all right let's uh in acts chapter 8 verse 3. it says as for saul he made havoc of the church entering into every house and hailing that's hauling hauling men out men and women both and committed them to prison and one other place that says that he he even had some of them murdered all right now whether he did it personally or had the soldiers that he that belonged to the sanhedrin if he had them do it neither case he was partaker of it paul fell into this category along with the rest but god was not done with paul this young man he think he wasn't done yet paul was willing to chase down jewish men and women who believed in jesus he got letters from the sanhedrin i'm just giving you some background here now you got letters from the santa hatred giving them permission to go into people's homes with jewish soldiers and drag them out before the council had them thrown into prison and like i said yes even killed paul's attitude looks very black and white this is it you speak about jesus we haul you off to prison and if you're doing it loud enough we have you killed all right but it went against everything he had learned from his father and his mentor they were very tolerant about others having their own beliefs and cultures now listen they didn't believe in what those other people believed in but they didn't believe in bullying them they didn't believe in to throw them into prison because you want to believe you don't want to believe in what the law says that's your business you have to suffer the consequences of it and so they were willing to let people make their choices just it's it's a form of godliness in a sense that god allows us free will and he allows us to make choices and the choices we make have consequences good consequences and bad consequences and if we make bad choices then we suffer from those and we make good choices god comes in and sees that we're blessed with those all right uh so we we get an idea what's happening to paul here now he's very focused on on running out and persecuting the church and getting the people and bringing them back with these letters and throwing them into prison but suddenly part f paul's conversion you look at your outline number one rome ruled at that time remember rome ruled the land from italy through greece through modern turkey that was in asia minor syria lebanon and palestine where the jews were rome levied taxes on the people and ruled when it came to the affairs of the state but they allowed local authorities to continue to keep the civil simple cases the criminal cases the simple ones ones that violated the laws of the jewish nation all right within their jurisdiction now this did accomplish two things it helped the romans keep the the people from acting in chaos they they had some form of uh submitting to authority right and then secondly it kept the fact that they let these the jewish leaders rule it kept them from having to put a massive amount of soldiers there as an army now i'm not saying there wasn't a lot of people there a lot of roman soldiers but that was only a drop in the bucket compared to what would have been required had to they do everything that the jewish people were doing plus what the romans demanded do you follow what i'm saying here so they in essence saved money but not having to send the roman soldiers there all of the the mass that they would need all right uh it was because of all these things that paul was able to obtain letters from the high priest allowing him to drag jewish men and women back to jerusalem for judgment if they were suspected of being a believer in christ in other words it violated the laws of the jewish nation not so much of what it was against the romans all right and so they were able to get give these letters to paul so we have to see here though that god is working in a background in other words unknown to people or to paul he was working in a background of paul's life he was dealing with paul showing paul now oftentimes we don't we don't see until we reflect back and look back at what god is doing i look back at what god was doing uh about uh seven three four maybe about 10 11 years ago i was walking on a dirt road and the lord had said to me that he broke open he just began in his and i'll give you a paraphrase what he said he said you're going to marry teresa that's my present wife you're going to marry her now uh we had been seeing each other off and on and as friends but when he said you're going to marry her i just said here's the plan of god my destiny my purpose so i went back to her to her and i said has god been speaking to you about anything and she said about what so i said well you'll know when god speaks to you about it so i figured it was imminent after a few months i went back and said has god been talking to you about anything and she said about what and so once again we waited after three years i said has god been talking to you about anything and this went on for seven years now when i look back at that i look at how much i was in agony all along the way just waiting for it to happen i couldn't get anybody else to see that same point that i was seeing but i was the one that heard the voice of god and so what happened was uh it got to that place where i was in total agony about the whole thing i began to question whether or not it was god that had spoken to me and here's the history the the thing i want us to see here what i didn't see was god was working in the background of my life he had put me together with another man who was like gamilia he was gentle kind he was tolerant being with him i picked up the act some of the attributes that he had and i can remember saying to the lord oftentimes that that attribute that he has there i need that in my life and so what i was doing was giving god permission to eradicate the thing take out from what was in me that was contrary to that attitude and put that attitude in me all right and so what god was doing was making me a butter a better husband and so at the right time at the right moment my wife says to me before we were married she says i believe god spoke to me has been dealing with me for the last several months this is after seven years god has been dealing with me about our relationship now here's the important thing i'm as happy as i can possibly be and the fact that we are together is amazing to me but more importantly is how we treat each other it goes beyond my own imagination it had to be something that god did and each one of us and as he put us together how we're growing together that's an example of how god works in the background without us seeing sometimes and it may be that's the case with you that god is working in the background of your situation and you don't see it but i want you to hold on because if god is saying in his word or god has given you a personal word then you're going to become victorious in this issue then you just go to the bank with that you know that it's going to happen because god is not a liar all right all right let's look at part two conversion on the road to damascus let's turn to acts chapter nine we're gonna read verses one through five and saul yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the lord went into when unto the high priest and desire of him led us to damascus to the synagogues that if he found any of this way whether they were men or women he might bring them bound to jerusalem and as he journeyed he came near to damascus and suddenly and that's what usually happens to one of us each one of us that are born again suddenly suddenly we get a revelation of who jesus is and we become born again all right and suddenly this shined around about him a light from heaven and he fell to the earth and heard a voice saying unto him saul saul why persecute us thou me and he said who art thou lord and the lord said i am jesus that whom thou persecuted it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks now god makes a supernatural entrance into paul's life he wanted paul to be absolutely sure unto whom he was conversing verse five jesus says to paul it is hard for you to kick against the pricks now what does that mean if we don't understand what was going on then we don't get the full impact of what jesus was saying in those days when farmers did anything with like plowing the fields and stuff like that they would hook up to oxen and they would put them in a yoke normally the older yolk would be on one side and the younger oxygen the younger oxen would be on the other side and he would learn how to uh the demands of the farmer all right and when this one got old enough this would take over and then he would bring in another young oxen who would be trained by the old older oxen does everybody get that picture okay and so what would be happening is the oc the farmer would sit up on the on the on this cloud behind him and when he told with two words what the oxen was supposed to do if they rejected what he was supposed to do and he usually was the younger one he would take this long stick that he had with a point on it was called a goad all right and he'd say and he would them stick actually protrude into the into the oxygen and what the oxen would do oftentimes was he would raise up his leg and kick at the gold now here's the problem with that is it didn't influence the farmer any he just took the goat and stuck him again just to make sure he got the point in which the farmer was trying to relate to him and as often as he kicked at it he would stick him and then eventually he'd say let me stop kicking at that because i wanted to stop sticking me with it and so what jesus was saying it is hard for you to kick against the pricks why because i was just going to keep sticking the gold there i'm going to keep letting you know what was going on right god was saying to paul i've been showing you through the word in other words all the things that paul had studied all those years about the old testament was now being revealed god was showing him jesus throughout the old testament right and uh and even with stephen's testimony we read where it said that they were they should have been influenced by it because it was filled with power and might and and with the authority of the holy spirit right but he says you have to be resisting me and kicking at my goal to you have you ever kicked at the goalie god was doing in your life is there something that's going on in your life because we're supposed to be learning from this this is not just information this should be revelational this should this stuff that we're covering should open up the door for us to see where it is that we need to make our changes where it is that we have to allow god to work his work in us to be more conformed to the image of jesus than we were the day before all right so we have to continue to yield in acts 9 verses 10 through 16. this is paul's knocked down off his horse now he's blind they lead him away and we pick it up here and there was a certain disciple at damascus named ananias and to him said the lord in a vision ananias and he said behold i am here lord how many times that god speaks to you that you really get excited until you hear what the lord has to say to you and that may not necessarily make you want to throw a party listen what it says and verse 11. and the lord sent up to him arise and go into the street which is called straight and inquire in the house of judas for one called soul of targets for behold he prayed and had seen in a vision a man named ananias coming in and putting his hands on him that he might receive his sight verse 13 and an eye is filled with faith and power and might say oh listen then ananias and said lord i have heard by many of this man how much evil he has done to thy saints at jerusalem and here he had the authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name so ananias isn't saying i won't go but he's saying do you understand what it is that you're asking of me and oftentimes we get to that place when god's word or god's a word from the lord through the spirit of god says something to us we have to know that god knows what he's talking about and he knows what he's asking us to do and he's looking to see if we'll respond okay so listen what he says but the lord said unto him go thy way for he has chosen vessel unto me to bear my name before the gentiles and the kings and the children of israel in other words he was going to go and speak to everybody that would listen to him all right uh for i will show him uh how great things he must suffer from my namesake god was going to show up all the things he was going to suffer if god took us the same route and showed us the things that we would have to suffer uh would we respond how paul responded now i will tell you if the lord had told me you're gonna have to wait seven years for her to get the message that i am putting the two you together i don't know what i would have done i would have tried to endeavor i would try to force my way but seven years and that's often the reason why god does not tell us all his whole plan for fear that we would not do it so he's saying i want you to trust me and so with paul he showed him some things but not all things he told him that he would do it he would have to respond to the suffering that he was going to take because of lifting up the name of jesus but that paul was willing remember what we said he was determined he was focused if he was sent on a mission he was going to complete it that was his character that's what he was about so uh it's important for us to realize that how how do we respond it's simple uh we don't want to freak out anything that god is saying because we know that god knows what he's doing um i said that we are looking at everything in paul's life to show how mighty god used this man remember what i said to you you never know who it is that you're going to witness to and what god is going to use that person for don't look at anything that you're doing is as menial doesn't have any any real status in the kingdom of god god never asks us to do something that isn't important to him and it isn't important to your destiny here's ananias who've got singles out to go lay hands on paul and share the love of god with and then ananias slips back into into uh obscurity right yet what he did set the stage and pathway in which paul would travel he played that super important part it was like that man i told you about that witnessed in in a cruci in a little crusade that he had a revival for two weeks and only three or four people got saved and he questioned the lord he said what was what was the point of going there four people i could i could have been someplace else we could have got hundreds saved and he and the lord didn't answer him but years later it was revealed to this man that one of those people that got saved in that little revival for two weeks was billy graham here's ananias same way you could be ananias you can have one job and then maybe go into obscurity as far as the written word but not in god's eyes because you have played a part in establishing what somebody may be doing on shooting on behalf of the kingdom so we have to remember that we are working together with the early church to get christianity off the ground everything that we're saying and doing is regarded i just want to see how much time we got here is regarded along those ways all right so maybe we'll stop here and we will pick up in lesson number two when uh we return the next time uh in lesson number four i just hope that so far you've been reading uh reading acts chapter 7 chapter 8 chapter 9 so you can get a focus on what paul was doing at the time and you could see the type of person he was and we already know we already know what kind of man we already know what kind of man he was what he turned out to be so we want to bless you and we want to thank you for uh paying attention and we'll see you the next time
