In the spring of 2014, a man sent Jeffrey Epstein an email about a young German woman. He had sent Epstein her photos a month earlier, and now he was following up, asking whether Jeffree might want to send her a ticket to him. The man wrote that he knew her well, that she was quote very cool. "You will love her," he promised. And when that didn't land, he tried again. This time, he described her a different way. Six words designed to make Jeffrey Epstein remember. The girl you missed from Germany. Her name was Michelle. She was 21 years old. And 18 months later, she picked up a suitcase, walked out of her mother's house, and was never seen again. For 11 years, nobody looked for her. And truthfully, when I found out the reason why, that is the moment that I knew I had to make this video. Michelle grew up in a small town in Germany. She was the oldest of three. Her family says that she was very stubborn, the kind of person that is impossible to tell what to do. As a teenager, she wanted to be a model. She entered a local beauty pageant and she even got photographed for a catalog. Her mother wasn't thrilled about this whole idea of modeling. I wanted her to get a solid job. I told her, "You look beautiful now, but what are you going to do when you're 30 or 40 and nobody books you anymore?" Michelle was at gymnasium, which I had no idea what that was when I started researching this video. So, I looked it up and apparently in Germany, kids get sorted into different schools around age 10. Not different classes, but entirely different buildings. Like, one school will lead to trade work, one leads to office work, and one gymnasium is the university track. doctors, lawyers, professionals come out of gymnasium. And that's a school that Michelle went to. So, she wasn't a girl with nowhere to go. She was already on the road her mother wanted for her. But Michelle spent her nights out in the city instead of studying. She started to really go down a path of partying. She started to go to class less and eventually she dropped out. Then she had told her mother she'd gotten her first modeling jobs. But here is a problem with telling Michelle's story. Almost nobody that knows her or that is involved in any way will tell it. Dear Spiegel, German's biggest news magazine and ZDF, the national public broadcaster, spent months investigating her disappearance. They tracked down her old friends, and those friends either said they noticed nothing or refused to talk about Michelle at all. Her own parents didn't know much either. She'd kept most of her life from them. So you end up with a young woman who seems to have been living several lives that never really seem to touch each other and the person who can maybe describe those lives won't. In 2012, Michelle moved to Dubai. She told her mother she had a job waiting tables there. According to what she told her mother, a man noticed her at the Buddha bar there. He ended up approaching her and he said he worked as a model scout and that he was always on the lookout for pretty girls. His name was Daniel Siad. Daniel is a Swede with Algerian roots who describes himself as a modeling agent. His job, he said in interviews, is to discover young women and refer them on. And there are indications he was really in contact with agencies, including Elite, which is one of the biggest in the world, which is exactly why, to me, a 19-year-old would believe him. I mean, if I was 19 and I was her, I'd probably believe him as well. But Derspiggel and ZDF found he may have been doing something else at the same exact time. In December of 2025, the US Department of Justice began releasing documents from the Epstein case. Under pressure from the public and from Congress, millions of files went online. Daniel Sad's name appears in those documents nearly 2,000 times. He was in contact with Jeffree from at least 2009 onward. And what he was doing in those emails was pitching women. He'd send Jeffree their photos, their measurements. He'd send the pictures with lines like quote amazing beauty or quote very polite. In one email, Daniel described himself as a fisherman. A fisherman who catches women for Jeffrey in France, in Scandinavia, in Eastern Europe. He insists today that he has no idea Jeffrey would abuse these models that he recruited for him. >> My work with him has been strictly professional. I never doubt that because I never heard anything from anyone introduced him who came back to me that he they had a bad uh a bad uh situation with him. >> But why would a supposedly reputable modeling agent be offering women to an investor in the first place? Starting in 2012, the name Daniel came up more and more in Michelle's conversations with her mother. Michelle started talking about trips to China, the UK, South America. luxury hotels, but when her mother pressed her for details, she would just try to brush it off. You would never get an answer out of her, her mother says. In 2013, the two of them vacation in Dubai together, Michelle and her mom. Michelle took her mother onto a yacht where her mother met Daniel Sad. He was quote open and friendly. She says he actually came across as legitimate, but she was suspicious, too. A boat with three decks, a private chef waiting on the guests. How did her daughter know people this wealthy? Her mother has a phrase for what Michelle was living, a quote glitter life. Then Michelle's father overheard her on the phone with Daniel and confronted her. Who is this guy? Michelle said she worked for him as an escort. Her father recalls today. Her mother puts it like this. Quote, Daniel Sad set Michelle up with rich people who took advantage of her. As most of us know, the overlap between modeling and escort work is really an open secret in that industry. Here's the structure. A scout finds a teenager in a small town. The agency fronts her costs, flight, housing, test shoots, and she arrives in a foreign city owing all that money before she's booked a single job. And don't forget, she doesn't even speak the language. Her visa is tied to that agency. She's 17 or 19, and everyone around her is an adult who essentially controls whether she eats. now at a man who says he can introduce her to someone rich. The Epstein documents show at least one modeling agency that offered him women off of its roster. And not like one rogue evil scout that worked for that agency that was doing all this dirty work by himself secretly. I'm talking the entire agency itself. And the most notorious figure in that world was a French modeling agent named Jean Luke Brunell. Jeffrey Epstein reportedly paid a million dollars into Jean Luke Brunell's agency MC2. Jean Luke Brunell was arrested in Paris in December of 2020 on rape and trafficking charges. He died in a cell in February of 2022 before he ever even faced trial. Allegations about Jean John Luke Brenell weren't new either. American television was reporting on his conduct towards models as far back as the late8s. That is a world that Michelle walked into at 19 years old when a man at a bar told her that she was pretty. February of 2014, Daniel Siad shares photos of Michelle with Jeffrey Epstein. Roughly a month later, he asked Jeffree whether he might want to send her a ticket. Like I was telling you at the beginning of the video, he writes, "I was wondering if you would like to send a ticket for Michelle, the girl you missed from Germany. She's a girl that I know well. Very cool, great person. You will love her." And I guess I do have to say that through these emails, one could argue that there's nothing that proves that Michelle and Jeffrey Epstein ever actually met. Two of Jeffrey's former assistants told Dear Spigel and ZDF they never saw her. And German police say she didn't travel to the United States during the period those emails were sent. Michelle's family says that she was struggling with an addiction so severe that it took over her life. She had been admitted to clinics more than once. And on one occasion, a taxi driver bringing her home called emergency services because she was so intoxicated. In July of 2015, she met a German man at a hotel restaurant while he was on a business trip. Dear Spigel calls him Tom. They got to talking and they had a few drinks. Tom spent what he calls a blissful summer with Michelle. They went sailing. They went to the beach. He still has the photos. More than 10 years later, he's kept them. In one, Michelle is pressing a kiss to his cheek. She's truly a kind person. He says he completely fell for her, but he says he noticed the other side fast. She was constantly getting calls. Sometimes she'd get screamed at. The calls were about photooots, flights, money. Quote, "I got the impression she was under serious pressure." Tom believes the caller was Daniel Siad, and her father remembers the same thing. In August of 2015, he was at the family's holiday home and Michelle joined him. Her phone would ring nonstop. He asked her who keeps calling. She showed him a photo of Daniel Siad. You could tell that guy was up to no good, her father says today. Both men say that Daniel spoke harshly to her. Her father puts it rather plainly. Quote, she was afraid of him. Tom said, quote, I believe her drug addiction was exploited. In August of 2015, Michelle spent some time with her father at his place. He says that when he saw Michelle, she just seemed tired of it all. She was trying to go to rehab again, trying to get off drugs. In the evenings, the two of them would sit in the garden barbecuing, talking about what came next. We agreed that when I got back from vacation, we would look for an apartment for her and a real job. Unfortunately, it never happened. Michelle spent her final days at her mother's house. Her brother was busy with school and her mother always seemed to be working. Unfortunately, neither of them saw much of what was going on in her life. Only that at some point she picked up her suitcase and just walked out. Goodbye and out the door. Her brother says it was early September 2015. He can't remember the exact day. She never said where she was going or how long she'd been gone, but that was normal for her. And normally she would just turn up in a week or two at the most. But not this time. There has been no trace of Michelle since. Contact with her family has completely stopped. Her social media went silent. Two email addresses stopped working and her friends have never heard from her again. Her mobile phone was broken and sitting at home. A month went by. The family went to the police and reported her missing. The officers said there was little they could do because Michelle was an adult and she was free to go wherever she pleased. An active search was only possible if there were indications a crime had been committed. The fact that she had never gone this long without checking in, that apparently just wasn't enough for them. Police checked whether she'd registered in her home region or a neighboring state. They inquired in a neighboring country, but nothing came back and then they just stopped. No further investigation. No public search was ever launched. Police say today they saw no grounds for quote a major search operation. But here's what they did have. a second phone of Michelle's because Michelle had two phones. One her family had which Dear Spiggel and ZDF later had examined and one that went to the police. That second phone has been sitting in a German evidence room for more than 10 years. Police say a forensic analysis wasn't possible for technical reasons. They now plan to try again. Since Daniel Siad's name became prominent in the Epstein files, more and more women have come forward saying that he recruited them. Two suspected victims told Dearbel and ZDF that Daniel connected them to Jeffrey more than 10 years ago. Both say Jeffrey regular course them into sexual acts. Others have gone further. A Swedish woman who used to work as a model says that Daniel Saiad raped her in can in 1990. A German woman has made similar allegations. Daniel denied knowing these women. He said that he has never in his life raped anyone. >> I have never abused any mother in my life. But he was under investigation in France where he lived. Five complaints had been filed against him and one of them was for human trafficking. And the women who filed these complaints describe this pattern. Daniel would approach them, pay them compliments, lure them with a prospect of a modeling career, which if you forget is exactly what a man at the Buddha in Dubai did in 2012 to Michelle. Michelle would be 33 years old today. As recently as this March, German police were still saying there was no concrete indication of a crime. The finding that makes an active search legally impossible. Meanwhile, the responsible authorities were apparently already aware that her name appears in the emails of a convicted sex offender written by a man that French prosecutors were pursuing for possible crimes. Then, Dear Spigel and ZDF published everything that you've just heard. Five reporters, months and months of work, Michelle's family on the record, the emails, Daniel Sad, all of it in one place. For the first time, I'll link their full investigation below. This video exists because they did the work. And for the first time in 11 years, something started moving. Prosecutors are now expected to decide soon whether to open a formal criminal investigation into Michelle's disappearance. 11 years of nothing, of just complete silence and one article and suddenly it's a live question again. There's one more thing and it happened this month. On Monday, July 20th, Daniel Siad was found dead at his home in a suburb northwest of Paris. >> A French model recruiter linked to Jeffrey Epstein has been found dead at his home in the suburb of Colomb near Paris. According to prosecutors, >> he was 69 years old. Prosecutors had opened an investigation into the cause of death that very same evening. A post-mortem was ordered and no cause has been released yet. His lawyer statement was quite brief. He is dead and he is innocent. Six women had filed complaints against him in France. Their lawyers say they quote found the strength to break a particularly heavy silence and that they faced every stage of proceedings with remarkable courage. They will now never see a trial. One of them gave a deposition to police in June, weeks later after his sudden death. She told the BBC, quote, "An important link in the chain has just vanished into thin air without there ever having been a chance to recover the information Daniel Siad might have possessed given that he was never questioned." French prosecutors had opened their investigation in February. They had him under telephone surveillance five months and they said it never produced enough evidence to justify arresting him. The lawyers for the six women called the inaction scandalous. They said the women felt immense anger that they had been denied a criminal trial. And honestly, how could they not be angry? Five months of surveillance, six complaints, one of them for human trafficking, and it never added up to a single arrest. And now it's too late. Jeffrey Epstein died in a New York cell in 2019 awaiting trial for sex trafficking. Jean Luke Brunell, the modeling agent who founded his agency with Epstein's money, who was suspected of transporting and housing young women for him, was found hanged in a prison cell in 2022 after more than a year in custody before his case was ever heard. And now Daniel Siad dead at home before anyone ever sat him down in a room and made him answer a single question. Three men at the center of the same pipeline. Not one of them ever cross-examined. Not one woman ever got to watch any of them explain themselves under oath. The French investigation is still open. Prosecutors say the goal now is to identify everyone else who was involved. Unfortunately, Michelle is still missing. Michelle's family found out her name was in the Epstein documents from these reporters, not from police, not from any agency in any country, from journalists who called them up. It was a shock, her mother said that she might have had something to do with that person. And then she stops. She doesn't finish the sentence. Her mother still thinks about her every day. When she's in the city, she scans the faces of the people walking past, looking for her daughter. At the train station, she looks into the eyes of the addicts, hoping to recognize her, but nothing. Asked what she believes happened, she said this. I fear she's no longer alive, that something was done to her. I did want to mention that Michelle's family asked Darbigel not to publish their surname or where they live. They're afraid of being permanently attached to the name Epstein. That's why you haven't heard a last name in this video, and you won't. Michelle is still a missing person. Somewhere, there is a woman who is 33 years old, or there's an answer about why there isn't. It breaks my heart to think of Michelle's mother still standing in train stations, searching the faces of strangers, hoping one of them might be her daughter. I hope more than anything that she gets the answers that she deserves. I saw a lot of comments in the past two videos wondering if this is my background and if it's my home or not. And I know that it's a different setting than a lot of my other videos. This is not my home. Although I do love it. It feels very Nantucket vibes to me. But unfortunately, my condo that Sloan, my partner, and I live in was part of the West Hollywood flood a week or so ago, and we both we both lost our cars to it. And it was something I had never witnessed in my life before. And now our place isn't livable for at least a month. So we will be here for a month. And it's been it's been extremely stressful and a chaotic time. But every time I get overwhelmed with the phone calls and the insurance and not being in my home, I just try to remind myself that, you know, I'm grateful I'm still here, that nobody was hurt in the floods, that, you know, I have a roof over my head and I'll get a new car and it'll all be okay.
