An Indian startup is building this. And it's called Pen, but before I tell you what it does, and you can try to guess by the way in the meantime, but first I want to tell you how I discovered it. So, right now I'm at Bits Pilani Quest. This is India's largest student-run startup accelerator, and today was their annual demo day. So, I want to tell you about the top five pitches from this event. And first up we've got this thing here. This is built by a startup called C-Desk, and it's a pre-engineered nail foundation for buildings, or Pen. And this unique foundation allows you to construct a building without excavation or laying of concrete or waiting 30 to 40 days like you normally would while building a house. Okay, next up we have Sputnik Brain. And this is a non-surgical brain-computer interface built by a Bengaluru-based neurotech startup. And this device switches on the reward centers of your brain using mechanical waveforms. Now, these waveforms modulate deep neural tissue, which would otherwise require deep brain stimulation surgeries to modulate. After that, we have Chai Omi. This is the world's first AI and robotic chai system, and these guys are located at T-Works in Hyderabad, and they built this giant robotic kiosk that automatically makes you one of more than 1,000 different types of chai. Following this, we have Aliment, and this is a startup building truth machines for factories and manufacturing plants. So, these machines help factories to track and solve shrinkage, pilfering, wastage, and supplier variants using a variety of universally connected sensors that all plug into the company's system of records. And then finally, we have Aura, which is a Bhuvaneshwar-based startup building a physical platform that allows drones to land, charge, and take off without any pilot intervention. And so, they're basically building the infrastructure for drones to operate as fully autonomous CCTV cameras in the sky with no human involvement. And that was Bits Pilani Quest 2026. It's a network of more than 50 investors with more than 1 crore rupees dispersed in the last 3 years and I'm looking forward to coming back in 2027. >> IT IS C-DISC. >> >> SEE YOU IN 2027.
C-DISC is one of the many companies that showcased their work at BITS Pilani's annual BITS Conquest pitch event in 2026. BITS Conquest is a network with more than 50 investors and more than ₹1 crore disbursed in the last three years. RuntimeBRT attended BITS Conquest, so here are the five most interesting startups we saw there. 1. C-DISC is building PEN, which is short for Pre-Engineered Nail. This unique foundation allows you to construct a building without excavation, laying of concrete, or waiting weeks while building a house. 2. Sputnik Brain is a nonsurgical brain computer interface built by a Bengaluru-based neurotech startup called Sputnik Brain, and this device switches on the reward centres of the brain using mechanical waveforms. These waveforms modulate deep neural tissue which would otherwise require deep brain stimulation surgeries to modulate. 3. Chaiomi is the world's first AI and robotic chai system. Chaiomi is located at T-WORKS in Hyderabad. They've built a giant robotic kiosk that automatically makes customers one of more than 1,000 different types of chai. 4. Aliment is building truth machines for factories and manufacturing plants. These machines help factories track and solve shrinkage, pilfering, wastage, and supplier variance using a variety of universally connect sensors that all plug into the companies system of records. 5. Auraa is a Bhubaneswar-based startup building a physical platform that allows drones to land, charge, and take off without any pilot intervention. They're building the infrastructure for drones to operate as fully autonomous CCTV cameras in the sky with no human involvement.
