All this will end in the new proposed system. For connections up to a distance of 300 metres, the consumer will have to pay only one free fixed charge. This arrangement will be applicable to areas within 300 meters of the pole. The old British era system of free connection up to 40 meters will also end. The proposal may be considered at the Supply Review Panel Subcommittee meeting on December 18. Now the charges for new electricity connection within a distance of up to 300 meters will be reduced significantly. Along with this, the fee charged for connection up to 150 kilowatts has also been fixed.
