We will also find out which nutrients are deficient in the body during this season and what can be eaten to overcome this deficiency. Listen. In winter, the days become shorter and there is less sunlight, due to which the amount of melatonin, a sleep hormone, increases. Increased melatonin leads to more sleep. Secondly, reduced sunlight reduces serotonin, a brain chemical that regulates our mood and energy levels. Its quantity decreases. Due to which we feel more tired. Apart from this, in cold weather the body needs more energy to keep itself warm. Due to which we get tired quickly. Apart from this, in winter, less walking and staying indoors most of the time, all these things also make one feel more tired. Apart from this, we drink very little water in winter. Dehydration also causes fatigue. In winter, sit in the sun for at least 15 to 20 minutes in the morning. If you can walk, it is even better. Do light exercise. Yoga, stretching, whatever you like. Some such activity should happen daily. To reduce stress, you can do deep breathing exercises and meditation. All these things also improve your energy levels. Especially Vitamin D, which is already very low in the normal population. Due to its reduced quantity in winter, you feel low energy and your body gets tired quickly. So eat things rich in Vitamin D. Milk, curd, cheese and if you eat fish then it is even better. You can take eggs. Iron deficiency is also very common. For iron deficiency, you should take green leafy vegetables. You can take jaggery. You can eat gram. Apart from this, you can get Omega 3 fatty acids from our flax seeds, chia seeds, walnuts, almonds etc. These should also be eaten. Apart from this, you should take Vitamin B which is present in whole grains, pulses and these vegetables. So some sunshine, daily exercise and eating right. This can significantly reduce your winter lethargy. Take care of yourself. No matter how cold it is, do some exercise every day, even if it is for 15-20 minutes. This removes laziness and keeps you active. Now let's move on to the next segment on health. It's about the body. Sense Dent Toothpaste for Sensitivity. Why does someone get cancer? No exact reason for this has been found till date. But there are some factors which increase the risk of cancer. Like spicy and pungent food. It is believed that one should not eat too much spicy food because it increases the risk of stomach cancer. Now how much truth is there in this? Can spicy food really cause stomach cancer? We asked this to Dr Anil Herur, Director of Oncological Sciences at Kims Hospital, Thane. Doctor Anil says that eating spicy food sometimes does not cause any harm. But if a person eats spicy and pungent food every day or several times a week, he may experience burning and swelling in his stomach. Ulcers i.e. wounds can also form. If this continues for a long time, the risk of cancer increases. Chillies and spices contain a compound called capsaicin. Its small amount does not harm the body, rather it can help in reducing inflammation to some extent. But when it is consumed in large quantities and continuously, then the inner layer of the stomach i.e. gastric mucosa starts getting damaged. This increases the acid in the stomach. The stomach walls become inflamed and the risk of ulcer formation increases. If this inflammation persists for many years, changes begin to occur in the stomach cells, which can increase the risk of cancer in the future. This risk is even higher in people who drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes. Are taking pain medications for a long time or have H. pylori infection. H pylori means Helicobacter pylori. This infection is considered a major cause of swelling and ulcers in the stomach wall. Many studies have found that people who eat very spicy food continuously for 10-15 years have a higher risk of stomach cancer. At the same time, if someone in the family has had stomach cancer or the person has chronic gastritis or peptic ulcer disease, then the risk of getting cancer also increases. That is why it is important to recognize the symptoms of cancer. There are usually no specific symptoms in the early stages of stomach cancer. But as the disease progresses, some signs become visible. Such as heaviness in the stomach, loss of appetite, weight loss, feeling of fullness after eating food, when the disease worsens then symptoms like stomach ache, continuous vomiting, vomiting of blood, black stool and difficulty in swallowing appear. Many patients may also experience weakness, fatigue and anemia, i.e., lack of blood in the body. Often people ignore these symptoms thinking them to be gas or acidity. Due to which cancer is detected late. That is why if anyone has symptoms, he should consult a doctor immediately. The doctor may perform an endoscopy to determine if there is cancer in the stomach. In this, the walls of the stomach are viewed through a thin tube. If something seems wrong, a biopsy is done. If needed, CT scan and PET scan are also done. The treatment of stomach cancer depends on its stage. If it is an early stage then surgery can be done. If the cancer has spread, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or targeted drug therapy may be given. Understood? Now it is the turn of the last segment of health. Dosage means a great health tip. Saumya Tandon is an Indian actress. You have seen her in popular TV shows like Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai. These days, a reel of Soumya is going viral on social media. In this she is telling that she never did dieting. But she does five things related to food and drink every day. Like eating one spoon ghee mixed with turmeric and black pepper powder every morning. Add grated ginger to a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. Do not eat anything sweet like sugar, honey, jaggery. Eating protein-rich foods and including nuts in your diet. The most important thing is to have dinner before 7:00 pm. Brother, these tips sound very useful. But is there any benefit in following them or not? We asked this to Pooja Gupta, Nutritionist at Paras Health Panchkula. Nutritionist Pooja Gupta says that all these tips are very beneficial for the body. First of all, mix turmeric and black pepper powder in one spoon ghee and eat it. Turmeric contains an element called curcumin. It reduces swelling in the body. Black pepper contains an element called piperine. This helps the body absorb the curcumin present in turmeric better. Ghee is a healthy fat and curcumin is more effective when dissolved in fat. When all three are consumed together, swelling in the body reduces. Provides relief from joint pain. Immunity becomes stronger. Digestion also improves. Second, mix grated ginger in lukewarm water and drink it. Ginger contains an element called ginger roll. It increases gastric juice in the stomach. This helps in breaking down the food quickly and makes digestion smooth. Ginger also relieves internal inflammation of the body. When ginger is added to lukewarm water and consumed, the health of the stomach and intestines improves. This relieves the problem of gas. Digestion remains healthy and immunity is also boosted. Third, do not eat sugar, honey and jaggery. All three are in the form of simple sugars which immediately increase the sugar level in the blood. When sugar levels increase repeatedly, the insulin hormone is also released repeatedly. Due to this the body starts storing fat. As a result, your weight may increase. Fluctuations in blood sugar also cause fatigue and cravings. But when you reduce these simple sugars, blood sugar levels remain more stable. Weight comes under control. The skin looks healthy. It also has a good effect on the heart. Fourth, eat protein rich food. This strengthens the muscles. Protein takes longer to digest. That is why hunger also decreases. Protein also boosts your metabolism. Metabolism means the entire process of converting the food we eat into energy, creating new cells and preserving old ones. Energy levels remain high due to boosted metabolism. I feel less tired. Weight comes under control and digestion improves. Nuts contain healthy fats, fiber and minerals which are good for the heart and brain. Fifth, eat dinner before 7:00 pm. Having dinner early gives the food time to digest properly. This keeps digestion healthy. Having a healthy stomach helps in getting good sleep at night. It also helps in weight loss. See, when you eat food quickly, you will definitely do some movement after that. We will move around and work. This will use energy in the body. Calories will be burnt and it will help in controlling weight. That's all for health today.
