Welcome to the world of AES's magical energy! In this video, we'll show you how the sun's energy is transformed into electrical energy and the benefits of this energy for the environment. Remember that our planet has many resources to generate the energy used in homes, industries, businesses, and to light the streets. For example, the sun, in addition to providing us with light and heat, is part of what are called renewable energies, which are sources available in the environment and are almost inexhaustible. Along with solar energy, there are other renewable energy sources such as wind energy, which is produced through the force of the wind, hydroelectric energy, which is produced by the force of water, geothermal energy, which comes from the heat of the earth, and biomass, which generates energy from organic matter of animal or plant origin. The search for energy and environmental sustainability for our planet implies innovation in energy services. The use of a renewable and clean source like photovoltaic solar energy contributes to reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and contributes to the diversification of the energy matrix worldwide, thus also protecting the environment. How sunlight is transformed In electrical energy, sunlight is received by photovoltaic cells where solar radiation interacts with the semiconductor material of each cell, transforming solar energy into electricity in the form of direct current. These cells are grouped into panels and placed in rows connected to each other to generate the maximum amount of energy. All this energy in the form of direct current is sent to an inverter that converts it into low-voltage alternating current. Once this is done, the energy is sent to a substation that increases its voltage, and then it can be distributed to homes, businesses, schools, hospitals, shops, and industries. It is very important to know that electrical energy produced with solar sources is environmentally friendly. This energy does not generate waste and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.
