Google has released a new AI music model for Flow Music . Lyria 3.5. Many YouTubers claim that this is the best music AI model available so far. But is that really true? First, I'll show you everything Google Flow Music can do . After that, Lyria 3.5 will compete against Suno in four completely different musical genres. In the end, it's not the number of features that matters, but the music. My name is Thomas Foster. I am a music producer and in this video you will learn everything you need to know about Google Flow Music and Lyria 3.5 . Glad you're here. Have fun. One thing I can spoil right off the bat. The audio quality that comes out of Google Flow is fantastic. And how well he responds to complex prompts is unbelievable. For example, I prompted, " Do me an acapella," and I received an acapella. With Sono I can create a song and then extract the a cappella version using the Stamps function , but I can also prompt immediately, create an a cappella version and then only the vocals come through without any accompaniment. This is a whole new league we're playing in here. But let's look at it in practice. What I also really like is the voice function here. I press it there and from now on I have to press the P key, the letter P on my Keiper keyboard. And as soon as I press P, I can get started. Please make me a modern Latin pop song with Wagertone groove, Spanish acoustic guitar, warm Latvian percussion, modern pop elements and a catchy chorus. A romantic duet between a man singing in German and a woman singing in Spanish. Summery, passionate, emotional and absolutely radio-friendly. Uh, the text is supposed to be about a bullfighter who approaches this Spanish woman and fights for her love and her heart. Okay, I'm letting go of the P again because I'm done talking. Understood. I'm going to get straight to work with a ghostwriter to write a catchy summer hit. Then I create the song. Well, wonderful. And Google immediately responded with a friendly voice, so we'll see what he does with it now. It took a little while, he wrote a text which he sent us here and we also have two audio files. Let's listen in right away . The arena is silent tonight. I was only thinking of you. I have to move on tomorrow. But I cannot escape your love . My heart fights without a shield or game. My heart fights without shield or game. A life without you weighs far too heavily. He hit the nail on the head with what I wanted, even though I didn't necessarily want her to sing in German, which she does a little bit now . I don't dislike it so much . Um, I would change one small thing, just to see how well we can respond to it now. I really like the first option . Now I would like it if there were no drums under her singing in the first verse , if it were still very soft and only melodic, and the beats only came in when she started singing. Okay , I understand. I'm going to split the stems now and remove the drums for the first verse so that the transition will be smoother and more melodic , before the beats were cut, um, he's going to split the stems. I find that very promising. So, we have a new arrow. Let's listen to it right away . The arena is silent tonight. I was only thinking of you. I have to move on tomorrow. But I cannot escape your love . My heart fights without a shield and spokes, weighing far too heavy. Actually, quite well done. I mean, the drums are already there, but they're playing very subtly. One could be critical now and say that this wasn't what I wanted. But overall, that's about right. I'd say I'm amazed at how well that worked. Okay. Oh, and this is really important: what can we do with our audio files? Well, the most important things can be found here under the three points. If we click on Download here, we can download various audio formats. The most common are probably MP3, for quickly sending something to someone, or a WAFIL, for the best possible quality . For example, if we upload it via a distributor to streaming platforms like Sono or Spotify, of course. Oh, and we can also have a short video created for us. Uh, there are different ones here. Let's make a short music video. Uh, now you're asking me what kind of video I want. Would you like to see a mobile phone format here? 9:16, that's good for Instagram or similar platforms. So, now I was at lunchtime, uh, and he had plenty of time. That also cost quite a few credits. I think it was 1400 credits or something like that. Sure, a video like that costs more. But now we are especially curious about the result and will take a look at it. Oh my God. The arena is silent today. I was only thinking of you. I have to move on tomorrow. Yes, that includes lip-sinking. I cannot escape the sea of love. My heart fights without shield and spear. A life without singing you weighs far too heavily. But now something funny is happening. Now she's singing and the AI that made the video wasn't smart enough to understand that a woman should be visible now and not him moving his lips. Well, I can say this, it's by far the best one-click video I've ever generated. I literally only said once, "Make a video," I didn't touch anything, and this is what came out. There are flaws in this, that's clear. But I already think the result is pretty awesome. So, now I naturally wanted to know what the sound quality, what the musical quality of Google Flow Music is like? And that's why I tested four sauerkrauts. It was important to me that two were very traditional and two were totally modern. Uh, I wanted to include something instrumental . I wanted to include something German and something English. Uh, so that we can see as many different aspects as possible of what Google Flow can actually do and how it compares to Suno. Uh, and I always entered the exact same prompt in Suno and in Google Flow so that we could compare these two Shorres on equal terms. Shorre Number 1 Melodic Techno. That's the kind of music that's played in the club at Ibiza. It always has such cinematic breaks, lots of orchestra, film music, and then these hard techno-oriented beats. Let's listen to this. Let's start with Google Flow Melodic Techno. And now all of this is also from Sono Melodic Techn. Yes, exciting. Um, let's move on to something completely different. what is traditional. Uh, in German I wanted an Argentinian tech, uh, tango techno tango, something a little different. Argentine Tango. Uh, and in terms of the text content, I wrote about a music producer who, after a long day, leaves the studio and wants to discover the most beautiful melodies of the day at that very moment. That's just how my everyday life is. And we'll start with Google Flow, Argentine tango in German. The cups are cooling down. The day is over. I grab my jacket and go into the night. Even there is a sound that vibrates softly. A throne in the air that sounds like you. One of you that will never fade. Okay, let's listen to the whole thing from Suno. The light in the desk becomes dim and small. The day lives, swelling in my hair. I hear the cup against the stone and count the mistakes layer by layer, and clearly. The city is far away. I am alone in the room. Yes, and another German thing, by the way . Please write in the comments which you prefer and, above all, why you prefer it. So, which did you prefer in the first example, Melodic Techno: Google Flow or Sono? And what do you like better about this tango? And now we come to the third example, modern trap hip-hop, specifically in German. Here too, I've given a little bit of a hint. The daily life of a music producer: cables everywhere, cold coffee, countless projects, constantly new ideas, nightly inspirations, and the feeling that the next big song is only a melody away. This is what Google Flow made of it. Head in the Wol, the others can just follow you. Pressure in the boxes, the road is my lifeline, here water can no longer reach me. We'll get the gold and we'll set it on fire. The king is here, the one they all know now. Push the boxes, the street is mine, we're getting the modern trap hip hop. That's how it went . R, then you click something for me, because the next one is already lying there. Just one more idea away, just one more thought away. I live between chaos and kick luck, just a German trap hip hop. Please write in the comments which one you prefer and why . We come to the fourth and final example. Arabic music with English vocals. That's what Google Flow does with it. This is what Arabic music sounds like at Suno. within. Yes, please also write to me about example number 4, which you prefer: Arabic music from Google Flow or from Suno? And I would be very happy if you would write your opinion in the comments before I tell you mine, so that it is not influenced by me . But now I'll tell you what I think about it. So, I'm sitting here in a studio with superb monitoring and yes, I think Google just sounds better in terms of sound quality. Not by a huge margin, but noticeably so. However, from a musical perspective, it looks a little different. I'm usually much more inclined towards Suno. So, Melodic Techno, what Google Flow did, wasn't even a floor-based drum kit. That means one thing is clear: Melodic Techno means for going to the floor. We were far away then. Then we had this tango as a second example. Um, yeah, Google Flow wasn't bad in that regard. That sounded very authentic. This could actually be a slightly older recording. Uh, I just thought, yes, that was nicer. That made it clearer what Suno had done. So, musically speaking, I'm much more in line with Suno. Modern Trap Hiphop in German, that's when I realize that Suno is very commercial. So, in that respect too, one could say I prefer Sono. But many might also say, no, that's too commercial for me. I do like what Google is doing. And uh, the fourth example, Arabic music. Yes, that also sounded authentic on Google. Even then, if in doubt, I musically prefer what is done by someone else. I also think the mix is more organized. Sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed or too cluttered with Google . The voices sometimes struggle against the playback . It's not that I can't hear or understand them, but it just doesn't feel quite right . When it comes to mixes, I would say, come on, let's create a little more space in the arrangement for the vocals. It's all a bit overloaded. Um, yes, that's my impression. Nevertheless, I was very impressed by how, um, Google Flow sometimes responds better to prompts. So, if a prompt is very complex, uh, it's really impressive how Google truly understands that and addresses all the aspects. Also, the fact that you can just say, "Make me an a cappella piece." Awesome. This is not yet possible with Sono . โ
