WSOS 10's Bethany Teague was in court today following this case. She joins us now outside of the courthouse. So Bethany, so often in these cases, the attorneys always tell us we have to wait till the case goes to trial before they'll reveal information. So what did we learn today? Hi, John. We learned today that Amanda Taylor stabbed her father-in-law, Charles Taylor, 31 times. The medical examiner said that 11 of those stab wounds would have been lethal all on their own. We also heard from testimony today that Amanda Taylor described the murder as having felt like her first roller coaster ride at Carowind. After the murder, Taylor then posed for a picture in front of Charles's body, holding a bloody knife and smirking. She then sent that picture to a friend who posted it on what was described as a serial killer website. Taylor said she blamed Charles for the drug addiction and subsequent suicide of her husband Rex. The Commonwealth attorney said that her excitement and her anticipation over this murder was chilling. The jury was out for less than 25 minutes before they reached a verdict of guilty. Lindsay, so Bethany, I know the jury found her guilty. Any idea of how long she'll remain in prison? Well, the the jury is actually back in the courtroom right now deciding her sentencing phase. They will be deciding whether she will spend the rest of her life in prison. We expect to have that update for you coming up at 6:00. For now, live in Christiansburg, Bethany Te Ws. My daughter just called me and said my husband has stabbed him to death. Hey everybody, we are currently on our way to the house where Amanda Taylor committed the gruesome and heinous murders. We're on our way there now. So, in the next scene, we will be at Amanda Taylor's house where she committed those gruesome murders that fateful day. So, uh, how does it feel knowing that you're going to a house where this woman committed these heinous murders? How's it feel? Feel any different? Are you excited? We're still looking for the house shot, but we're going to find it here in a second. Okay, we are here on the road that Amanda Amanda Taylor originally committed the murders of the house. We're headed to the house now where she committed those awful murders. Right here it is, Dan Hill Road. All right. We should be coming up on the house here soon. This road on the way to Amanda Taylor's house where she committed the murders is creepy, y'all. I mean, look. I mean, this this looks like uh something on uh the movie Rowing Turner. I mean, this looks like the type of road that somebody would kill somebody on, don't it? This road is creepy. Look at this. Especially this. Look at this creepy little bridge here. Oh Look at this creepy bridge here. Has all this writing on it. It's like a little running bridge. Oh no. You should have went home. I'm still on the hunt for Amanda Taylor's house. All right, we found the house. Got to go back across this creepy bridge. This road is so creepy. Oh my gosh, look at this. This is a creepy bridge. Oh man, we are on the way to Amanda Taylor's house where she committed the waters. Look how creepy this road is. This is the road that leads to the house where hand known as the selfie killer committed those murders that that day. Next scene will be at the house. What's up everybody? All right, you are currently watching. Damn, what are they doing? Got some uh road rage going on right off the side of the road right here. That's the That's what you're hearing. This guy just went chasing this car real close behind this other car laying on the horn. You can still hear it. Anyways, sorry about the interruption. You are watching Crime Stories with Jason King here at Deli After Dawn. Thank you for tuning in. We are currently at this house that you see behind me is the infamous Amanda Taylor murder house. This is right here is where Amanda Taylor butchered Charles Rex's father. Okay. Amanda Taylor blamed Rex's father, Charles, for Rex's death. And instead, and this is what's messed up about the whole situation, it happened around Easter. So, you would think a normal parent would be going out buying an Easter basket for their son. But instead, in this household, in this family, she was committing murder instead of buying an Easter basket for their son. and the little boy's father committed suicide on the boy's birthday. That's the kind of dysfunctional family that this was. Okay, that's what's crazy about this situation. And what is even more crazy about the awful murders that took place in this house right here behind me is the fact that the guy that she butchered, Charles, okay, his he was here. He Charles lived in this house, okay, with his elderly father who was bedridden. His name was Charles, too. He had to take care of his father, which is bedridden. So, keep in mind while Amanda Taylor, known as the Selfie Killer, was butchering, Rex's father, Charles, Charles's father, Charles Senior, was laying back there in the bedroom, bed ready, and had to listen to Charles being murdered. He had to lay back there in the bed while all of this murder was taking place and listen to the screams and the brutality and the murder take place. Laying there in the bed not being able to move, knowing that someone in his house, his son is being butchered to death and he can't get out of bed and do nothing. He can't do nothing about it. Just put yourself in that frame of mind. Put yourself in the frame of mind of laying in bed, being bedridden, and hearing your son being murdered in a house that you live in, and hearing the screams of him being butchered and murdered and stabbed to death, and you're bedridden, and all you can do is just lay there and listen to it. That is awful, people. That is absolutely awful. And that is what took place in this house right here behind me. Absolutely awful. Now, the scene that you've seen before this took place at a bar WR Brews. It's a good thing I actually I actually met Amanda Taylor. Me and my friend Dustin used to go out on the weekends and we would go to bars and drink, throw a couple back, shoot some pool, and have some fun. Well, me and my buddy Dustin was hanging out at WR Brews, okay? And Amanda Taylor happened to be in there. This was before the killings. And one of the things that stood out that I remember about Amanda Taylor before the crimes took place is she had that big tattoo on her chest. Well, she approached me that night. Well, not that night, but before the murders happened, she approached me at Bruise at a bar in Rono, which we'll be going there next. And she asked me when the bar was closed and it was last call. She came up to me and my buddy Dustin and she said, "I'm having a house party back at this house right here." And she invited me and my friend Dustin back to her house party that was taking place at this house right here behind me. And something just didn't seem right. I had something was off and you know I I took her number, told her I would be there and me and my buddy never came to this house that night cuz something just seemed off. We decided to go get something to eat and then we went back home. I took him home. Then I went home and we both crashed that night. And it's a good thing that me and my buddy Dustin did not take Amanda Taylor up on her offer because that's what she did with Shawn Ball. She she approached Shawn Ball and invited him back to this house right here to hang out. Now, she was just using Shawn Ball and she told him this right before she shot Shawn Ball in the neck. up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Now, the only reason that she was with Shawn Ball was she was just using Shawn Ball for free rides cuz Shawn Ball had a driver's license and Shawn Ball had a car. And she even told him that. She said, "I never liked you and I was just using you for your car and your gun." So, the only reason she was with Shawn Ball is she was just using him for his car for free rides and to get the the gun that way she could uh you know have her one of her weapons of choices. But, um yeah, and that's what she told Shawn Ball right before she shot him in the neck up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Now this house as you can see those that murder those mur that murder took place in this is the house right here where she stabbed uh sorry about the traffic. This house right here is where she was where she stabbed Rex's father Charles to death. It would be Charles Jr. There was I believe both men that were living here was named Charles. There was uh Charles Junior and then there was like Charles Senior, the guy that was bedridden that I told you about. But this is the house that she stabbed him to death at took the selfies which labeled her as the selfie killer. All of that murder that Amanda Taylor did took place. Are you holding holding it up there? Yeah. All the murder that took place took place inside this house right here. And as you can see, be visiting just, you know, it's just I have like a creepy feeling just knowing that that being at a house where a gruesome murder took place. It's just you can actually feel the heaviness in the air. You can actually feel the heaviness in the air. Like just looking at that stuff in this house such a creepy feeling, just knowing that something so gruesome took place. Do you have an eerie feeling, too? I mean, this building right here, this is supposedly the shed where um where Rex took his life and hung himself. Allegedly. Allegedly. And I find it odd. I find it very strange that this is the shed where he allegedly hung himself. My daughter just called me and said I just stabbed him to death. My daughter just called me and said, "Man, I just stabbed him to death." Hey, my name is Kyle. Um, this is the Denhill Road uh house or this is the barn rather where somebody hung himself. Um, up here, this is a a little rocking horse. Um, I think he's missing an eye. He really fits the part for uh nasty haunted uh item. But when I moved in here, uh he was hanging out up here and then at some point he uh was standing perfectly upright down here and I never touched him. Oh wow. So So he just like moved all on his own, I guess. So wow. But you know, I don't really believe in any of this stuff. So Right. Right. Um that's the only thing out of the ordinary. Um in between me stand up in between in between me moving in and uh the murder, you know, uh some hippies came in. They lived here and they saged the whole house and they really changed the whole um feeling of the house. So I by the time I got here, it didn't feel like anything out of the ordinary. Right. That's what's happening. Um, here we got some uh what Yeah, it could be bullet holes. I can't imagine what else they'd be. Yeah, that's what I think it looks like, too. Mhm. Um, but yeah, as far as where he actually hung himself, um I don't know. I don't I try not to spend too much time in this barn, right? Yeah, it is. It is got a little creepy feel to it, don't it? Yeah. Um, wonder where you would have done that. Let's see. But yeah, I mean the um his mother comes by. That's what I thought you guys were when you saw a car in the driveway. His mother comes by Uhhuh. every uh year or so just to kind of like visit the site and so Right. Yeah. All right. Get ready. Embrace yourself everyone. Cuz now we are getting ready to take a walk inside the infamous murder house where Amanda Taylor committed those gruesome, awful, heinous crimes that fateful night. Brace yourself cuz the homeowner is taking us inside the house in the very same room where the murders were committed. So, brace yourself and get ready. Come with me. Let's take a look. So, if you see the selfie, um, part of what you can see is this chimney here, this little decoration there that is featured in the, uh, selfie killer selfie right here. So, that's Oh, wow. We still keep that around for the memories. That's kind of neat that y'all still have that. Yeah. Um, but that's pretty much the only identifiable thing. Um, the landlords did a really good job of cleaning the place up. Right. Right. Heck yeah. That's cool, man. Or the uh the father I guess it was maybe like the grandfather or some relative was like here during the murder. So yeah, the guy that was bedridden. I think his name was Charles. Yeah. Mhm. Yeah. He had to lay back there in the bed and and listen to the burners take place and he couldn't do nothing, right? Yeah. And they Yeah. They didn't know he was there until after. I think so. Yeah. Wow. Wow. Yeah. So, he probably he I wonder if he was able to testify before he passed. Probably not cuz he was in bad health. Yeah. Probably could. That's crazy. Oh, wow. Just touching the same thing that they touched is like kind of wild. Yeah. I think I believe this is the wall that had that, you know, just like Yeah. All the blood and stuff. Yeah. Mhm. Oh, it's the same wall right here. Yeah. Did they just paint over it? The the landlords uh one one of them is a retired carpenter and so he just like completely redid everything. like he really he really transformed this place and I think he had a lot of um uh you know there was no official deed for the house and so there were maybe you know a dozen family members that were all claiming that the house belonged to them so he had to oh wow you know kind of litigate with all 12 of them in order to get the house right and fight with them wow wow wow oh wow Wow. And this is the loft. This is the loft here. Yeah. Wow. Wow. This is awesome. Now, when um Amanda Taylor was here or whatever, did they just use the wall for storage or was there do you think they stayed up here? Um, I mean, if they're I'm I'm too tall to hang out anywhere, but in the center on there, but when uh those hippie roommates that I was talking about Uhhuh. when they lived here, they were both pretty short and they just like did yoga up there. Oh, yeah. They kind of made the loft their little yoga spot or whatever. They loved it up there. They had Christmas lights strung up around there. So, they loved that spot. Heck yeah. Wow. Is there a brace yourself everybody? So come with me while we take a trip to WR Bruise.
