Hello everyone, in this video I will show you how to play Terraria for the first time! This guide is specifically aimed at beginners, because advanced players (so to speak) will find nothing new here. Just some background information. There are four main classes you can play with in Terraria: Warrior, Gunslinger, Summoner, and Mage. Each class has its own weapons, armor, and accessories. But paradoxically, besides these four, there is also a fifth class: a hybrid class. That is to say, a class that can use all other classes. This option is considered the easiest, so we will cover it in this walkthrough. It is also important to mention that I am specifically focusing on Classic mode, because that is the default difficulty, and I think that if you are playing the game for the first time, you will play on this difficulty. That's basically it! I film in Adventure Mode because it is faster. Let's get started! It all starts with creating a character and the world around them. We give the character a name, customize it, and select the mode – Classic. We have four modes here: the "Journey" mode is only for worlds with the same mode. This is not survival mode, but in fact a creative world. The other three modes are for survival and determine the punishment you receive if you die in the game. You can lose coins, items, or everything! So we opt for Classic, which entails minimal losses. Next, we create a world. Give it a name and choose the size – the bigger the world, the more resources it contains and the greater the room for movement. I would even say that a large world is more suitable for multiple players if you play on a grid. But for one player, a small world is ideal for making faster progress. Next, we choose the difficulty level of the world. There are four in total, and one of them is Travel. As I said, "Creative mode". Classic is a standard survival mode. And then there are the more difficult modes. Let's choose Classic mode! This is the standard, and that is what I focused on in the video. The last point concerns the type of corruption. Two different biomes with their own mobs and bosses. They say that corruption is simpler, so we select it and click on "create world". Nothing complicated. As soon as we appear in the world, we begin gathering basic resources: we chop wood with an axe, but do not go beyond the green biome. Other biomes will be more powerful, and it is best not to go there at this stage. For now, we are chopping wood and killing snails with a sword to obtain the gel needed to make the torch . Have you collected your starting resources? Then it is time to level up your character a bit and build your first base. Where are you going to build something, where will your colonists live, and where will it be relatively "safe"? We make a workbench and set it down. This is our first station for basic crafting. We are making a set of wooden armor, a sword, 10 tables, chairs, doors, enough torches for the whole group, and a number of wooden walls. We are going to build our house. Make a room at least 10 blocks wide and 5 blocks high. Wall everything off and install torches. Our room is ready. Your future villagers must also build their own rooms. The room must meet their requirements! - The room must be at least 10 blocks wide and 4 blocks high. - The room must have walls, a light source, a table, a chair, and a door. Try to build 10 rooms for the villagers. More is even better. You can also use a special menu to check room suitability and move NPCs. But you will discover that for yourself during the game. If the room is built correctly, the guide will live in it. By the way, you can check out various crafting options there – this will be very handy in survival mode. Now you can start collecting new resources, but before you do, it is worth running out of the house for a moment and "soaking" a few mobs. Yes, it might sound strange, but it is worth it. When a character dies, a tombstone falls out of their grave, and an "Abigail flower" can grow in the grass next to it. This is the first minion. It is therefore worthwhile to place a few gravestones near your house, so that this flower can grow sooner or later. The minion will protect you from other enemies. The preparation for the real game is complete, it is time to develop. Replace the floor in your room with a wooden platform. Dig down with a pickaxe and occasionally light the way with torches. Underground, you encounter caves with new mobs, resources, and items. Your task here: - My ore. Iron or lead, platinum or gold, depending on what appears in the world. Plunder vases and chests. You can get torch string and bombs from vases. And from chests you will find potions, the Eye of Cthulhu summoner, and accessories such as boots for fast movement and a Cloud Bottle for a double jump . - Collect gemstones and life crystals. You need gemstones to craft a grappling hook and crystals to improve your character's health. If you want to go back home, use a "return potion" or a "magic mirror". And to descend your tunnel (without crashing), you install a rope. You can go through it like an elevator. I hope you have collected enough by this point. But if not, I hope you find a dealer. He sells rope (and other useful items). Build a furnace and an anvil on the workbench – these are new workstations. You can melt ore into bars in the furnace. And from these rods, you can make objects on the anvil. Use platinum or gold to craft armor, a sword, and a bow. You can make tools such as a pickaxe, an axe, and a hammer from the leftover ore. And make a grappling hook from the gemstone. Also make a burning 1,000-point arrow for the bow. In addition to crafting items, your character must have at least 200 hit points, or better yet, 400. Accessories include Hermes' boots and a bottled cloud. They help you dodge the boss's attacks. If you have everything, you can build an arena for the boss. But if not, then we have to explore the caves further. You can also place a 'campfire' and a 'heart lamp' in the arena for a positive effect on your character's regeneration. Now wait until it gets dark and summon the first boss, 'Eye of Cthulhu'. The boss is not difficult; Keep him at a distance, dodge his attacks, and attack with an arc. Buffs from drinks and food will help in the fight. The boss drops new ore, which we smelt into bars to make a new bow for the next boss. Maybe a sword too. At this point, we are fully prepared to explore new biomes, such as desert, winter, ocean, and contaminated biomes. If you feel like it, go ahead. For now, we return to the dungeon to collect spiderwebs from spider nests. Build a sawmill on the workbench at home. On it, a loom to make silk from spiderwebs. We are making a bed at the sawmill. The bed is a storage point and will be very handy. We find an infected biome and build an arena on top of it . We climb up a rope and make a platform out of blocks and platforms . We are also building a full-fledged house with a bed. Click on the blood to create a storage point. Now we are teleported here when we use a "Return Potion" or "Return Mirror". We descend into the Corruption Caves, find spheres, and destroy them with bombs. Three spheres summon the boss and we are immediately teleported to the arena. The "Eater of Worlds" is essentially a giant worm and cannot fly. That is why we built the arena high. But be careful, because sometimes it flies anyway. Our tactic is to shoot at him with a bow and dodge when he flies at us. This way, if everything is done correctly, you will easily defeat him. The boss drops ore and scales needed to make a good pickaxe (and possibly armor). You will probably encounter the "Goblin Army" event at this stage. But if it doesn't appear, there is a caller. The core of the event is simple: an army of goblins attacks your house and you must defeat them. After you defeat them, you encounter a new NPC in the caves, the "Goblin Engineer". He lets you reforge weapons, tools, and accessories. You can also buy a workshop and rocket boots. The workshop is a workstation for combining accessories. These boots, for example, not only make you faster, but also let you fly a little. And if you're feeling adventurous, you can use a gravity potion (if you have one) and fly around in search of floating islands. Find a new sword and two accessories (a horseshoe and a hot air balloon) in chests. Combine them to create a new accessory that allows you to jump higher without taking fall damage. Okay, let's continue! Did you forget your tunnel? Now you have to dig all the way down to the new biome . This is going to be hell. Be warned, there is a lot of lava and dangerous mobs here! Your goals: 1. Mine obsidian. A block that forms when water and lava come into contact. 2. Obtain a Nether Furnace in the Nether. With this, you can make new bars. 3. Plundering chests and vases. These contain useful objects. 4. Mine Netherrack in the Nether. This block deals damage upon contact, and when destroyed, lava flows out. Be careful! To make it easier, you can craft the new accessory "obsidian skull". This neutralizes the damage from contact with netherrack. You make the accessory in a Nether oven. But ideally, you should make an obsidian potion from Netherpots. This completely neutralizes lava damage, allowing you to safely mine netherrack. At home, we make Nether staves, with which we craft a complete set of Nether armor, a pickaxe, a sword, and a bow. We are exploring the jungle. We are looking for the queen bee's nest, and it is also a good idea to find a whetstone and a wind bracelet. The whetstone increases the piercing damage of melee weapons. The bracelet is handy for upgrading boots. We collect jungle tracks, we get wasp stings and cannibal tendrils. We are making a grass sword for later. After we have found the nest, we build an arena, destroy the cocoon, and fight the boss. With our Nether set, you defeat her quickly. She drops wax, with which we can make a new minion (a wasp wand) and bee rations for later. On the other side of the jungle lies a winter biome. We explore it and find a dungeon with an old man – he is also the one calling the next boss. We build an arena and call the boss at night. First we beat his legs, then his head. He doesn't drop any usable items, but we must defeat him to safely enter the dungeon. In the dungeon, we defeat monsters and collect bones. We find a mechanic-NPC and an enchanted table. We defeat giant slime creatures and collect keys. Use them to open golden chests until we find a blue sword. And ideally a gun as well. At home, we make armor for ranged weapons, a fire blaster (if we have found a pistol), and buy more ammunition from the gunsmith. And we set up an enchanted table at the base. That gives a +1 bonus for your henchmen. But if you find a blue sword instead of a pistol, that's even better! We leave the cast armor behind for the warrior and forge a new sword at the demonic altar. Don't throw it away; It will come in handy in the distant future. Now you are ready for the hardmode final boss! Descend back into Hell and build a long road. It runs approximately halfway across the map, although it can be shorter on Classic difficulty. You will probably receive a Demon Guide Doll during the build. Throw him into the lava to summon the boss. But if you are unlucky, build a house for the guide in Hell. Break the floor so that the house falls into the lava. The boss calls this up as well. The boss is not difficult, especially not on the Classic difficulty level. Attack with your sword, throw bee guards, and shoot with everything you have. The trick is to keep the boss at a distance and jump, so that her lasers rarely hit you. Suppose we have defeated the boss and our world has switched to Hard mode. A new biome and new mobs have appeared, and the old ones have become stronger. The boss dropped a good, class-specific accessory for increased damage, as well as a Holy Hammer. Return to the Evil Biome and use it to destroy six altars. Then three new types of ore appear in your world. Let's start digging right away, and then we'll tackle other matters. First mine Palladium or Cobalt and make a pickaxe or a drill. My Orichalcum of Mithril, make a new anvil and a pickaxe. Next, mine a lot of Titanium or Adamantite, make a new furnace and a set of ranged weapons. This offers little protection, but does increase the damage from ranged weapons. Make a crossbow from this ore as well. Now you can do other things. Add 10 rooms to your house for new tenants in hard mode. You can also create portals for fast travel. For this, you have to buy many items from the mechanic. You can see them on the screen now. In the workshop, make a 'big plan' and a tool to install wires. Buy levers and gantries from the installer and install them in the correct places. Connect the portals with wires and you have a fast travel system. The next goal is to find the Shimmer biome. It is usually located on the jungle side, just below the beach. Shimmer is a special liquid with a transforming property. By throwing a life crystal or a fruit from the trees into it, you get a new item with a permanent buff for your character. We can also use flickering to change the emblem to another class. If you are interested, you can view the manual for this liquid. Let's continue! Now we need new accessories. 1. Wings. To do this, you must reach the sky level. Climb a big tree or a floating island. Build an arena there and place a water candle to increase the spawn frequency of mobs. Defeat harpies to collect their feathers. And wait until the wyvern appears. This is a fairly powerful dragon, but it drops the air essence needed to make wings. The final ingredient is: an essence of light or darkness. Light essences fall from all mobs into the Underground Light, and darkness essences from all mobs into the Underground Infestation. You need both types of essence, and a lot of it! But there are also other tasks besides gathering the essence. I'll start with the easier ones. In the Underground Infestation, you must put out the cursed fire of mobs. To make arrows or bullets with cursed fire. A magic quiver is a good choice for a skeleton archer. It will significantly improve your bow or crossbow. Small mimics drop a cross and a star mantle. Combine them into a star curtain. You should get a Daedalusian arch from a large light mimic. It will be difficult to defeat him in caves, but there is an easier option. Craft a key from light essences, place it in a regular chest, and this will create a light mimic in your arena. Oh yes, I forgot to mention! New spiders drop their fangs. You can use them to make a staff for a new minion and sentinel. Make wings, a boss summoner, and build an arena for him in the sky. This arena needs to have wooden platforms so we can shoot at the boss through them. Summon a destroyer at night. During the fight, it is important not to get hit in the head, otherwise you will lose a lot of health points. (It seems this does not work in Classic mode.) We receive Essence of Power and Sacred Wands from him. It is advisable to defeat the final bosses a few more times to craft a complete set of Holy Armor and Excalibur. You need a Mega Shark for the following final bosses. For this, buy a Minishark from the Gunsmith and illegal weapon parts that are sold at night. Smash shark fins in the ocean. And there you have it , a new weapon. Fill it with Cursed Fireballs and join the battle. For Gemini, we first focus on the green; That one is the most dangerous. I usually try to fly more often during fights with them. Up and down, and a little running. As soon as you have defeated the most dangerous one, you can take Final Boss 2 to the second phase, enter the room, and take a short break. We receive the Essence of Insight from the Gemini. Now it is time to defeat the final mechanical boss. To be honest, I find him difficult and I can't give any tips. Avoid as your intuition tells you. He drops the final essence. Craft a new pickaxe, an Avenger's Emblem, a True Edge of Night, and cheer! We have completed one of the difficult levels. We descend into the jungle to mine new ore and at the same time gather Fruits of Life to improve our health. These started growing after we defeated the first mechanical boss. You can also throw a fruit into the sparkle to get an Aegis Fruit, which permanently increases your character's defense slightly. Make a chlorophyll crossbow and arrows from the chlorophyll. Return to the jungle. Find the golem temple. I usually excavate a large area nearby and build an arena. Find the boss's button, break it, and return quickly to the arena, where we will fight her. In the first phase, you circle the boss and attack. In the second phase, you run as far away from her as possible. We get the temple key from the boss, but we are not going inside yet. To do that, we first need to level up our character again . We find a mushroom biome and collect mushrooms and their seeds. On the surface, we choose a spot to create our mushroom biome. We need at least 200 soil blocks, in which we plant mushroom seeds. When the mushroom biome appears, a new NPC, Truffles, moves into the house. We are buying an automatic hammer from him to make mushroom sticks. We make mushroom sticks and all mushroom armor. Someone has already attacked the golem, but we haven't. We descend into the dungeon. After defeating the Plantera, new mobs appear. We get a rifle from the skeleton sniper. We make chlorophyll balls for it. And with that, we easily beat the boss. We return to the temple, overcome the traps, and open the chests with the boss summoner. This is also dropped by lizards. In the last room, we find an altar to summon the boss. Create an arena and summon him. The boss isn't really difficult, but he can be a challenge the first time you encounter him until you master the rhythm of his attacks. We get fragments of it to make armor for the warrior, but we don't necessarily need it. If you are lucky, however, the golem drops its eye. That would be very useful for making the Emblem of the Destroyer. The next boss is even easier than the golem, if you understand his attacks. To summon him, you must destroy his henchmen in the dungeon. Some of his attacks can be blocked with blocks, so I stood under the roof and shot with guided bullets. But to summon the ghost dragon, you must climb outside and find the real dragon to disrupt his summoning. (If you can't defeat him, use the nurse tactic.) The boss drops a new workstation, and four towers with their own monsters appear in the world. In each tower, you must defeat 100 monsters to remove its shield and destroy it. Defeat the Vortex and Stardust towers first. You can make a new henchman and a cannon from their fragments. Then we destroy the remaining towers, return home, power up our character with everything we have, and wait for the final boss. The Moon Lord requires you to attack three points: the eyes in his hands and on his forehead. Try to disable these eyes simultaneously, because they cause more damage in the second phase. Also, don't forget to get treated by the nurse when your health has dropped to half. As soon as all eyes are gone, the boss will open his heart. Attack and hope for victory! Now you have two choices: 1. Start a new playthrough, or 2. Continue with this survival and further develop your character. That is all for me! Thanks for watching and good luck with your playthrough.
